Maverick: Steam Pumpkin Weapon: Pressure cloud, piston punch Stage: Metal Furnace Area Description: Steam Pumpkin is a pumpkin-based reploid who worked at a Metal Furnace in managing the furnace’s heating and cooling systems. Created to look like a steampunk robot, Pumpkin has a rotund body with the chest and abdomen parts formed to look like a jack-o-lantern face carving. His arms and legs are powered by pairs of powerful pistons, and has a stovepipe on his head for a form of a stem. While speaking, he breathes through his breathing apparatus between sentences. But when under extreme stress, his body builds up so much steam that he blows through holes on his abdomen and chest piece, his breather apparatus, and his stovepipe on top of his head. Although he is comfortable in his job, Pumpkin’s daily work routine became worse for him under a new management, putting him with so much stress he had to blow off steam every one hour until the whole area was covered in steam. He was deactivated and decommissioned as a result, until Sigma found him and programmed him into a maverick. He took over the Metal Furnace immediately, where he mercilessly melts down captured hunters and innocent reploids into materials used to mass produce Sigma’s army. (Boss encounter) Steam Pumpkin: (inhales) And where do you think you’re going…(inhales)…you blue dweeb?! (inhales) Nobody gets in here in my boiler room! (inhales) X: Steam Pumpkin, what you are doing is immoral beyond reploid standards! Steam Pumpkin: Hehehe! (inhales) Why’d you tell me about this? (inhales) They are all just scraps and all. (inhales) Unless, you’d wanna join them. (inhales) X: They’re reploids…hunters and civilians. And you’re melting them down for processing?! You’re the most lowest maverick I have seen, coming from a reploid like yourself! Steam Pumpkin: (inhales) Grrrrrr!!! (inhales) No one questions and argues about my work! (inhales) Now…!!! (inhales) You’re getting on my nerves so much! (inhales) I’m going to let out some steam! (inhales) X: Whoa! Easy there! Your pressure is mounting. Just calmly cool down already. Steam Pumpkin: (angry inhales) Cool down…!!! (angry inhales) Oooh….that’s it, you pipsqueak! (inhales) It’s time I’d blow off some steam on you! (inhales) (Note: Can’t think of a maverick counterpart to Punk Man. So I just made it a pumpkin with a steam theme, hence “steampunk”.

It's weird, after you listen to enough of these, sometimes different themes and tunes pop up in your head at random times, sometimes it's recent ones, sometimes it's one that popped up from a long time ago. I'd been humming this one not too long ago, this was so well timed for me personally. Great work as always!

I've been in love with Farewell to Ballade ever since first hearing it. And now I've fallen in love again. It's like this melody was made for MM7 instruments ; their sense of drama lends itself so well to its inexplicable melancholy.

This remix is more like a chill music, I'm not gonna lie... But I like it.

I thought this was a mega man 4+5 final boss combination. This was a surprise, but a welcome one to be sure

On the one hand, I wish I could hear more of the instruments from MM7 used in this track, but on the other hand, this is still pretty darn good.
