I saw Dolly many years agoo at a Werking Mon's Club. The Committee were a roight grumpy bunch of buggers, but Dolly had em crying o'loffing in no toime. Bless her!
I've come here after seeing the BBC Archive video (aired today) on Dolly. I did have to listen in carefully, to be honest, but she was a funny lady. Never heard of her before today.
If you're not from the Black Country the dialect is famously difficult to understand. In this case because the record was made at a comedy club the echo of the PA system makes it even more difficult. I have considered subtitling it, but would you really want to sit there and read the whole thing? I don't think so. If you've come here via RUclips suggesting the video to you, it's probably just made a mistake in this case.
