Pure Black Country, she was wonderful. I remember seeing her in the Black Country Night Out show in Brierley Hill in the mid seventies with Harry Harrison and Tommy Mundon. RIP them all.
Mt parents immigrated from Tipton to the US in 1949. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. Backcountry was spoken inside the house.... Southern US outside the house. I still laps into backcountry when I speak to the cats or when I'm with my family. Dolly reminds me of my aunties.
Throughout the seventies I appeared with Dolly during the iconic black country night out series with my band Giggetty. I will never forget her. Loved her to death. Ray Deer xxx.
when I first moved to the black country one of first records I got of the library was Dolly Allen and the black country artists laughed so hard then now listening to her she still makes me laugh even more today's so called comedians should play these artist years after their deaths why they still have people rolling around in laughter with swearing RIP Dollyxx
Hi John......I'm originally from Halesowen [which for some odd reason was always considered to be 'on the edge of the Black Country'] but remember well the likes of Dolly Allen, 'groaty-pud' and 'faggots n pays'. I used to play in the same football team as Paul Mundon, cousin of Tommy Mundon and a member of that large 'infamous' family! Paul was a bull of a kid [played centre-half and was built like a 'brick s**t-house'!] Even for a 14-year old, you didn't mess with him! Great times and it's lovely seeing and hearing all these characters again after all these years. Thanks!
5.46 - (Given a bottle of medicine from the doctor) "I'd got to take it three times a day in water ... I was in and out the bath all the week" 6.17 - (Remedy from the doctor) "will it cure me cough? ... the doctor said my good man you'll be frightened to cough!" 13.46 - "Our Lilly wanted to be a model, so went and had her face lifted and when the bill come it dropped again"
I used to know dolly allen her son and tommy mundon. So sad when she died. Had some fantastic nights out in Cradley heath. Where's all those times gone ? Such a shame it's all gone and been replaced by greed and destruction and the influx of foreign cultures imposed upon the poorest people in Britain. It's films like this which exposes how evil and wicked British politicians really are because it's them thats destroyed our way of life and communities.
THIS is pure Black Country. Rest in pace Dolly
Thanks for posting this. ❤ I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thomas age 54.

Being brought up in the Black Country, a proper night out should end with a punch up outside a chip shop😅
Ay it
Hi G Grey - your comment ‘Ay it’ got a ‘Translate to English (United Kingdom)’ added to it. Forgive those algorithms, for they know not what they do….
