Wow, the Blackwidow Elite seems to be a much better keyboard, especially if you've upgraded it with the PBT keycaps (like I did). You get a wonderful plush wrist rest, choice of all 3 switches (I use orange) and it seems to cost less now.
I agree but I think the newer version has brighter RGB translucent switches so pudding keys would look even brighter on this one, too bad I hate the media controls and inferior plastic wrist support.
@@Cruiseblackpool I honestly don't know how much brighter the new ones are, but I have mine (Elite) dimmed to like 30% (maaaybe 40% with the PBT keycaps). I prefer a more subtle light on my keyboard and mouse but I'm positive you could get a wonderfully bright and even looking pudding keycaps on Elite as well. Of course, you might want more light, that's fair.

The V3 is rubbish, I plastic rubbish palm rest where mines soft material leather type and the volume multimedia controls are way better. The only thing the new BW V3 has over the BW Elite is its transparent switches that’s it.
amazing Review man! I just got this keyboard yesterday with the green switches and it’s great! As for the wrist rest I just use my old Ornata Chroma V2 wrist rest but yeah it’s a bit disappointing for the price point you would expect to have a comfortable wrist rest or just not include it at all and just reduce the price a bit.

Surely they could have added some kind of RGB to the media Control but its not really necessary.

@@Chris2Breezy The razer mamba elite is a good option for both games. It look good with RGB an has a good censor for mid/low dpi accuracy. If your a more serious competetive gamer as far as bo3 goes, a finalmouse is always a great option, being very lightweight, however they'll likely be sold out around this time and might be over your $100 thresh hold.

i have a problem with the circle button top right, it is lagging and presses by itself, i cant watch a video without my hand pressing that button, and the thing is i cant remap it from razer synapes because it tells me (this key cannot be remapped) for some reason every key is remapped except the one i have a problem with. i just want it disabled ):

My time with it made the plastic scratching noise. So imagine over time you will see wear at those contact points. Honestly it’s a nitpicking point as it’s not going to impact the performance or anything. Minor cosmetic wear

Just bought this one today for $94, it will arrive on monday, hope it's good. I had to choose between this one w/ razer green switches and hyperx alloy origins w/ hyperx red switches.
I used a Black Widow for a good year and Just got a Tecware phantom for something quieter. A few things to note before you buy a keyboard. The Black Widow, you cant swap switches. There is no built in lighting settings, it will only do spectrum cycle unless you use software which is really a bummer for how much it costs. It only stores macro keys on the internal memory which I have no clue what that even is. The software is disjointed, it uses modules so there is no coherent lighting if you start using chroma studio inside Synapse, it wont load with the normal quick settings. The Tecware phantom is better in these aspects although, the Razor green keys are nice and loud with great feedback. If you want all matching Razor stuff, synapse does bring all of that together and you can certainly do amazing things with the lighting and effects with the Synapse software. Also note, the Synapse software only seems to work with Razor products. For the money, you are better off with something with swappable keys imo
@@elka7823 I would 100% get something with hot swappable keys and built in no software needed RGB, The Tecware phantom has that its pretty cheap too. There is nothing special about these Razor Keyboards honestly and if a key ever wears out, you are screwed because they are soldered to the board

After watching this review i bought it and upgraded from v2 blackwidow, but i have an issue. The volume scroll when i press it either doesent mute the sound, or mutes it for a second. I reinstalled synapse,tired it on a different pc but still the same

Elite has a WAY comfier wrist wrest, better volume control (if you're right handed, plus you can absolutely YEET it in a direction and get a drastic change in volume very quickly) as well as dedicated media control keys (needed for people like me with something playing 24/7). Really the only thing this has going for it is the clear housing for the switches which should of happened _ages_ ago, and the better overall style and frame. - So really it comes down to the same dilemma I had last time with the huntsman elite vs blackwidow elite. do i want to pay for extra lighting and design, or am I fine with having regular rgb and the same functionality as the other keyboard? I personally cant fw the lack of ability to change music on the fly but I'll prolly pick this piece up if i ever feel the need to try something new, then again the huntsman looks like a god damn rainbow machine so it's still considerable imo. Ya the wrist rest is garbage. I'm still using my wrist rest from my Blackwidow Elite. I always go with the yellow switches. Awesome keyboard and review. ⌨
The apex 5, from what I have heard, theoretically uses membrane switches but does not market it anywhere. I'd probably go for the blackwidow unless you really want that actuation feature on the apex.
i have the same keyboard and yes im very scared to use the cable routing on the keyboard i just leave it coming out the top, its also loud, a lot louder than my old blackwidow chroma 1, so much so that im actually anxious its too loud that my upstairs neighbours can hear me typing
I got this board today, but to be honest I prefer their older greetech switches better. Not sure who manufactures the V3 switches, but they feel pretty damn close to Outemu switches
damn same man i had a cheap keyboard with outemu blue's i dont even feel the difference between the keyboards. its bit disappointing since i expected a premium razer feel rgb is nice tho.
This is just an observation, but you might want to turn down the volume of the music a little. It was annoying at times, not that I couldn't understand you, but it was just loud and annoying.
I have the v3 quartz its a rather nice keyboard that being ever since I got my pc back in 2015 I always had mechanical keyboards and I had the corsair k70 mk1 and mk2 and I didn't like them for whatever reason the mk2 had its dreaded w key failure which upset me as it was a known issue I played call of duty on the mk2 and hated it, now I have this keyboard and I really like it a lot
At times the mic made my voice rather bass-y, sorry about that. Gotta figure that out now!

I got this board today, but to be honest I prefer their older greetech switches better. Not sure who manufactures the V3 switches, but they feel pretty damn close to Outemu switches
damn same man i had a cheap keyboard with outemu blue's i dont even feel the difference between the keyboards. its bit disappointing since i expected a premium razer feel rgb is nice tho.
@@mehmetbakircioglu5071 The RGB is an improvement, but everything else is meh. Imo, the best switches were their second gen switches by Greetech.

This is just an observation, but you might want to turn down the volume of the music a little. It was annoying at times, not that I couldn't understand you, but it was just loud and annoying.

I have the v3 quartz its a rather nice keyboard that being ever since I got my pc back in 2015 I always had mechanical keyboards and I had the corsair k70 mk1 and mk2 and I didn't like them for whatever reason the mk2 had its dreaded w key failure which upset me as it was a known issue I played call of duty on the mk2 and hated it, now I have this keyboard and I really like it a lot
