      Hi, glad you found the review useful. You may have to look for a used one as someone posted not long after I reviewed the pack that Berghaus have discontinued it. Not sure why they would do that as I think it's excellent for the money. Good luck with tracking one down.

    Good breakdown of the pack, I picked mine up about 3 weeks ago, lots of useful features, I think it will serve me well, and a lot lighter than my previous 45lt

      Glad you managed to find one, I don't really understand why they have discontinued it. The original video had more detail, this one was just an update to give my thoughts on the pack having used it for a while, ATB, Gary.

    I have had the same bag for a few years. I have used it for multi-day hikes. I also like it a lot: very versatile bag indeed. I would simply add one comment: make sure you add a waterproof bag liner inside as it is not waterproof under heavy rain (as almost all backpacks anyway). For the rest, excellent value for money! Enjoy!

      I usually have all of my gear packed in separate dry-bags because as you rightly say, no packs are really waterproof. All the best 👍

    I've owned mine since March 2018. I concur with your comments, particularly about the hip pocket. Lost some trail snacks recently 😠 because it isn't secure. I may well sew on a zip or a bigger zip pocket myself. Recent use has been wild camping in South Cumbria where I live. Wear and tear has mostly been to the mesh front pocket. First tear was around the triangle attachment point to the top middle strap which I reinforced with duct tape inside and out. Mesh pockets very useful. Good for rain gear, first aid kit, toilet kit and water filter etc. I use the bladder pocket for a small sit mat and maps etc. I also reprofiled the internal frame by bending in more of a curve to conform to my back a bit better. This has reduced the chafing at the shoulders. It can be removed but I prefer that extra support which makes the hip belt more weight bearing when I strap it about navel level. The hip belt strap could be a little wider for comfort but I think that will be fixed when I go really ultralight and lose a few pounds off my middle. 🤔😉 . A much under sung pack because of the dominance of the USA market in search engines imho. I had to do quite a lot of net research to find it. Most ultralight US kit is expensive AND we pay customs tariffs on top. £100 to save a few grams? Better to look at kit closer to home, then refined carb intake and save some kilos and ££'s. 😎

      The variety of mesh pockets and the price along with the weight were my main considerations when deciding to purchase. I did look at one or two US packs but the prices were ridiculously over inflated as far as I was concerned. ATB, Gary.

      Yes, it seems odd that they've discontinued it. I've had a number of Berghaus packs and liked all of them.

    Hi Gary How are you getting on??? Great review. Where was the modelling of it though.. You have to hit that catwalk with it on and strut like they do in Milan and Paris 😂😂😂 lol lol Great review and sounds like you are delighted with it. Would you still use your Montane one?? Ive said it to you before I can't believe you are planning to walk the length of Scotland and a bit with that size of pack.. It honestly baffles me Would you continue to pack lighter and light. I take it your days of 65-70 packs are gone. The bigger packs always feel more solid to me but I suppose technology takes over and lighter gear keeps you hitting the paths for longer each day. Hats off to you sir. Keep reviewing and hitting those mountains Stay safe and look after yourself ⛰️😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥾🥾🎒👍👍

      I'm fine thanks Scott. I don't see myself as the model 'type' ˋLOLˋ I am really pleased with the rucksack though, itˋs everything I hoped it would be when I bought it. Itˋs surprising how little gear you really need when you really analyse things. I can quite easily get my stuff into the rucksack with a few days food as well. Not sure now when I will be doing the Scotland hike though, everythingˋs up in the air with this virus nonsense. Take care, Gary.

    it's a shame you can't get it anymore in the 45L variant.. hopefully Berghaus are making an updated version with yours & Gygago recommendations.. personally i'd like a little more padding on the straps as i don't use the belt so often

    • @TheConstantHiker
      @TheConstantHiker  4 года назад

      That's a shame, I didn't realise they'd stopped making the 45L

    thanks for the review, what do you reckon for the load capacity?

    • @TheConstantHiker
      @TheConstantHiker  2 года назад +1

      I would rate the upper limit somewhere around 10 kilos, which is the weight I try to avoid going over anyway. Anything more and I think the lack of padding in the shoulder straps would make it uncomfortable.

    pack doesnt really say anythimg abt back lenght. how tall are you can i ask? i m 6'1 i worry that pack would be small for me..

    • @TheConstantHiker
      @TheConstantHiker  Год назад

      I'm 5"10" but as Chris Townsend in this review www.thegreatoutdoorsmag.com/review/review-berghaus-fast-hike-45-pack/
      There is only one length, so it's likely that it won't be long enough for you. All this is fairly academic thoigh because Berghaus have stopped making it since I reviewed it. regards
