- In this Digital Painting Photoshop Tutorial, we'll make 3 different painting effects in Photoshop. We'll start by making a sketch effect, you'll use some brushes and convert your photo to sketch effect in Photoshop very quickly. After that, you'll learn how to make a pastel oil paint effect using another 4 brushes (a very easy & new technique to make a Photoshop oil painting effect).
Finally, you'll convert your photo to line drawing using another 3 lineart Photoshop brushes.

Awesome! Thank you so much for this technique! I tried several times and realized this "Art history brush" tool doesn't work with just regular brushes. This tool works only for the special "Art history brush preset". I just downloaded your "Art History brush" and realized each brush has the "Art History brush icon on the upper light side corner and those brush only working well with Art history brush" tool!

I've downloaded and attempted to load your free history brush presets unsuccessfully. Initially I got an error message but now when I download it the icon is grayed out.
hi man. my version is 2021, but this has a notice "Could not use the art history brush because the history state lacks a corresponding layer" when i apply the art history tool.
samething happens with me . did u get solution?
Message "could not rasterize as pixel data for layer not directly editable" when using the art history brush. However, I have rasterized the layer, which makes no difference. Cannot find solution on line, and would appreciate your help, many thanks.
moi aussi, j'ai des problèmes. C'est quand même pas compliquer de creer un calque blanc et ensuite un calque transparent et de peindre dessus avec un pinceau..... soit qu'il y a un problème dans les préférences. Je vais même passer un mode 8 bit, modifier la taille et refaire un nouvel instantané. Je vois quelque chose de vague sur le calque transparent mais pas la modifiction vue sur la vidéo

hi, my version is 23.0.2 and it still doesnt work. I made it into an ABR file also and still didn't work. Keeps telling me it doesn't work on my version. Please help
Can I use these brushes for commercial use though? Can't find any license information. "Free" is such a vague term these days.

What is your phototshop version please? Mine is CC 2022, and I tested the brushes on all versions starting from CS6.
@@Pixivu I'm not able to load tools either. My error reads, "Could not load tool presets “Art History Tool Presets by Pixivu.tpl” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." I'm on the current most Ps update (5/2/22).

the number technique acts like an eraser erasing layer 1
(work only with Photoshop CC2018 and Above) :(
For the older versions download the tool preset not the brush preset.

Its not working, On blank layer when i start paint with brush it paint only white color. not the image. how can i fix it?

This does not work, I'm constantly getting rasterized errors or history layer errors
line effect is too small in my photo why?
Increase the image size, export as jpg, import it again and redo the process.
Guys make sure to import your photo or the effect will not work
