Guys, if you're having trouble with turning animal portraits into watercolors (such as with missing an eye, or similar), change the second filter from 'Cutout' to 'Watercolour' with the settings: Brush detail - 14, Shadow Intensity - 0, Texture - 1, and you should be good to go! When I get to the 6:00 min mark the brush doesnt bring up the below image or "paint" the picture. Seems I have done it right. But I basically get a bit lighter textured white layer

Please see the tutorial carefully first to last, so that you can understand the concept. Because You have to put the white image layer into font or every layer in the layer panel. so watch the tutorial again fist to last without skipping.
@@SofikulFakir I tried deleteing all my work and starting over again following every step and for some reason my computer will not make the layer mask into white. It will only show me my image and then I can not use the paint tool properly.
I was looking for this comment as I was facing the same issue. You need to delete the first layer of the photo that you duplicated from. In your layers panel only the smart object and paper texture should be there.

Fun fact if you want, you can add a new layer, fill it white, and use the texturizer filter to make it look like canvas, as opposed to adding the paper texture image, but either way works!

you need to select the layer and place it perfectly in the layer panel. then try it again..
