I do appreciate an honest review like this! I like a steakhouse experience to have really good food. A view is nice, but I want a great tasting meal to go with it! 😊
I haven’t been to either of these yet but have tried a few outside of the park and honestly I am pretty disappointed in all food options so far. Every one of them get bad reviews. I will say, right now, my favorite little grab and go is the coffee shop that is in the bike rental store. It is by parking lot 4 of the visitor center parking.
Yes, restaurants are increasingly disappointing, I do not know if it is my age or a change in quality and service. In the old days Amfac and Xanterra did a pretty good job to serve a good meal at a reasonable price, but since Covid and the change in how the Park Service regulates prices, it does not work well for me. I have had snacks at the cafe near the bike shop, and I have read the positive reviews, but I have not been there in about five years. Thanks for the recommendation though. I will try to throw a few restaurant reviews in now and then as I get out a bit more after Covid, but still, the best place for me is to eat in my room.
I agree with you that it's too expensive, and for that money you don't get perfect service. But sometimes you can afford something like that, you only live once 😄
Good point. It has been about five years since I ate there, and I thought I would try it again for a treat, but as I said in the video, I will not go back unless someone else is paying! ; ). Thanks for watching!
Agreed, it looks rather out of place in there. Way too sterile. No matter how good the food is, if I'm not really impressed by what I see around me, I will more than likely go somewhere else.
I am with you. The view was nice, but that was about it. I would rather eat in my room and then walk out and sit on the wall and look at the Canyon. Thanks for watching!
That's a shame that the food did not live up to the expectations. I think this is going to save some people from paying a lot to have this mediocre experience. I have eaten at El Tovar and we thought it was good.
Thanks for your comment. I agree that the El Tovar is the better option, and off-season, it is easy to get in there, but I thought I would give it another try to be sure my judgement was fair. Thanks for watching!
@@GC-Hiker yeah not really plus the building and all the labor upkeep and food supplies, place isn’t that expensive anyway pretty normal for where I live
Interesting concept I had not considered. I have noticed some videos have very fast narrative, perhaps that is why. I will explore the idea. Thanks for the comment.
Yes, that remodel is rather… hideous for the Grand Canyon. WTF do designers think sometimes?! 😂 Ya, let’s put a cold modern twist on the ancient & historic, rustic presence of a log-style building next to the rim of profound nature!
The view is beautiful and the atmosphere is very good.
Agreed. But the price is too high for me.
This is a place I want to travel to. Thank you for your good review😍😍
Thanks for wathcing!

Thanks. The view was the best aspect, and maybe I am living in the past, but at $112 a meal, I would like to be impressed. Thanks for watching!
@GC-Hiker I completely agree!!

Wonderful review ❤ i stay in my room as advised 😂 👍
Lol. I think that is the best idea. Actually, the meal cost more than a night in the room--one with a view and a fireplace!
Best Bison burger I had was at Wall Drug, ND. Most food at GC is from Cisico foods.

Location location location
True, but the public owns the land where it is located!

@@bowerthomas1078 Fair enough, I think we all have different experiences and perspectives (and maybe incomes. . . )
very slow video, speed it up to 1.25
