I am quite sure that God often allows people to screw up so that they and others could learn from their mistakes. The truth is that some are just so stubborn that they must learn the hard way.

What you mean is, God TOLERATES or forebears people in their sin (meaning it isn’t punished immediately) .. God never “allows” for sin.. all sin will be punished one way or another (on the cross or in hell) and because of that, there is no sin that is allowed.. all sin is forbidden.
The issue is, if God truly “allowed” multiple wives, then there is no way it could be a sin. If it actually is a sin, then God would have never allowed it.

The more I learn and gain wisdom, the more I realize His yoke is light. My life in Jesus makes sense to me now. I know my sin debt has been paid by Jesus already, but my heart is inclined to Him,so it's becoming easier to shake off the shackles of sin.

So by your kindergarten level IF/THEN logical fallacy laced logic Monogamy is a sin by association because all monogamy causes problems also.
So is it that all those who marry Polygynously will have troubles in this life? So we should avoid Polygyny?
Or is is that OH YEAH :

Can a born again live in polyginie? Yes according to his faith and conviction from spirit.

David never disobeyed God by having multiple wives because God never forbid polygyny in the Law of Moses.
In fact, Law of Moses not only allows polygyny but also gives instructions on how to treat your multiple wives:
*If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. [Exodus 21:10]*
*If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons but the firstborn is the son of the wife he does not love, when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights of the firstborn to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual firstborn, the son of the wife he does not love. [Deuteronomy 21:15-16]*
God only forbid kings to not have many wives:
*The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the LORD has told you, “You are not to go back that way again.” He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold. [Deuteronomy 17:16-17]*
Though it is never explained how much wives would be "many" but David is said to have 8 wives and he was never condemned by God for that so we can say that 8 wives are not many wives.

God never overlooks wrongdoing and He was furious with Solomon as stated at 1 Kings 11:9-13. As a result, God withdrew his approval and support. Solomon’s heirs lost the unified kingdom of Israel and suffered many calamities for generations to come!

This is why Jesus was the only spotless and blameless lamb of God. He tells us in Matthew 5:27-32 (KJV) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

@@neutral1087 Deuteronomy 17:17 is a clear warning for the Kings to make sure they had only one wife.
Deuteronomy 17:17 “He must not acquire many wives for himself so that his heart won’t go astray. He must not acquire very large amounts of silver and gold for himself."
Solomon not only disobeyed that command, he also had many foreign wives from different nations.
Solomons wives lead him astray, like deuteronomy warned. In 1 Kings 11 is describes how Solomon started worshiping other God's because of his wives convincing him of this.
Solomon also gained riches that he was also warned again. He fed his desires and disobeyed God in several ways. That's why God stripped him of his Kingship.

I think it was also Solomon who wrote, "One righteous man in ten thousand I have found, but one righteous woman does not exist," or something exactly like that in meaning.
Maybe Solomon was just looking for a good woman, and decided after 1000 of them, he was searching in vain. He was chasing after the wind.
Goodness is oly truly found in God, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
    God gives us free will.
He allowed Solomon to have as many wifes as he wanted, just as He allows us to divorce and murder and hate.
That is, He allows us to defy His will.
He does not endorse it though.
Also, bear in mind Solomon's mother was the adulteress Bathsheba.
Her lust led directly to the death of a mighty man of war. I can't imagine a woman like that would make a good impression on a son as she raised him.

@moonlitshore3575 you fail to acknowledge that Solomon didn't marry loads of women just for pleasure - Solomon married a lot of them to create peace and strategic alliances (e.g. Solomon made an alliance with Pharoah and took Pharoah's daughter who Pharaoh gave to him). But because he acquired too many foreign women he got influenced by their gods and was lead astray (the bible especially states that Solomon "loved many foreign women". If he had married 700 hebrew women he this would have been far less likely to have been swayed by other gods.
Stop being narrow-minded. MEN didn't command dominance over creation by worshipping women and making sex the highest goal. Wives are not just for sex - there are much easier ways for a man to obtain this without the burden of marriage 👍
A woman is literally incapable of meeting the needs/requirements/demands of multiple husbands - they can't even meet that of one man - hence the bible calls woman a helper (not an equal opposite).
Polygyny and polyandry are not equivalents - this is not a case of whatever a man can do a woman can do too (or better)

It feels like people out of their own indulgences and vanity, pick and choose which verses or actions of people of the OT are descriptive and which are prescriptive. In this case it is absolutely descriptive. David, Solomon, Samson etc. all defied Gods commands throughout their life, like all other human beings, they’re not holy being to be emulated, CHRIST IS. And Christ only glorifies the Original plan of marriage which is monogamy, just like there’s only the bridegroom and the bride, the church, just like there was only adam and eve, etc. The more people distanced themselves from Eden the more human behavior changed.
It is like saying; since God did not punish Jacob for scamming Esau out of his birthright in exchange for lentil soup, all of us can do that, it’s not literally spelled out that it’s a sin! Deceiving is sin, Indulgence is sin, it very clearly states that. Anyone who seeks to know Christ above finding ways to fulfill your own selfish wants, you will know that it is one man and one woman who become one flesh.

That’s cause Jesus Christ wasn’t even prophesied yet, so how could Solomon preach on Grace and Mercy & repentance through the Blood of Jesus Christ? The days of King Solomon were extremely early, the law of Moses were still in full effect, majority didn’t know of a new covenant and salvation to preach “THE GOOD NEWS”, at least not yet. King David knew a Great King, that would rule the Nation of Israel forever and ever would descend from his bloodline, but I’m sure he didn’t comprehend or articulate that this Great King would be Jesus Christ The Messiah, the savior of the entire world. TMH GOD didn’t reveal the magnitude of who Jesus Christ would be just yet. Even when the prophet Isaiah came on the scene and prophesied the coming of The Messiah, people still didn’t comprehend it, if they did, they would have known that Jesus Christ was TMH GOD in the flesh, they would have never killed him and fulfilled prophecy, they would have known that Jesus would conquer death and judge everybody whoever lived, on judgement day.
