Man, I just told my mom I wasn't worried about Beryl and now we're hearing that she's going to be a major hurricane. Having flashbacks to 2017 right now.

If you live anywhere in the areas I highlighted in this video, you should take Beryl very seriously. -Rusty
I don't live in any of the areas currently forecast to be affected by Beryl, but in 2017 we got a direct hit from max strength hurricane Irma even though most of the models said she would pass to the north of us. So for us it was Irma, not Harvey. I remember that year the models did a poor job of predicting rapid intensification... Have they improved much since then?
We have a trip to Cancun on July 4-8th what would you recommend? Would it still be safe to still go?
It really is too early to tell if Beryl will impact the Yucatán. The GFS model has it farther north, and weakening, the euro model would be more problematic.
I never give specific vacation advice, because everyone has different plans and different weather tolerances. You’re doing a smart thing by keeping up with the forecast. I will keep you updated here. -Rusty
I live in an area in trinidad where when we last got a tropical storm, we got severe flooding, would we need to prepare for the same type of flooding if we are going to get tropical storm conditions?

Will Beryl definitely impact Jamaica? No. Is Jamaica in the path from the National Hurricane Center? Yes. My advice as of now, is to keep a very watchful eye, and start thinking about preparations. -Rusty
