Bermuda is resilient. I lived there most of my life, so I have survived many of these.

WHAT'S THE COST OF LIVING THERE IN BERMUDA TRIANGLE? IS IT CHEAPER THAN ST LUCIA, BARBADOS, AND OTHER CARIBEEAN ISLANDS?

Thankful for the dry air & wind shear that lowered this hurricane from a Cat 2 to a Cat 1 🙏🏼 It went very calm now winds building up again. 66% of homes have lost power.

How does Bermudan produce its electricity? I assume fresh water comes from desalination plants.

Their electricity is produced by imported fuel oil and diesel. The short answer to the question is rainwater and roofing. Bermuda's roofs are engineered in such a way that they harvest rainwater. By law, every Bermudan house and building must employ the same style. Rain water was, and still is, the only source of truly fresh drinking water. I saw an episode of this Old House that showed a home they were remodeling in Bermuda, with a 20,000 gallon Cistern in the basement of collected rain water that was used for drinking.
