I’ve always thought of the tale of the Horned God and the Goddess one of the most romantic tales ever recited, in balance and peace with each other, where one has a weakness the other has a strength to help keep that balance, the natural cycle of life and love, truly one of my favorite love stories
Blessed be brother and sister. Your brother Micah here. This is AWESOME and yes i do believe Cernnunos is a God most definitely. Had experiences with him. Also i know in my heart he is the Lord. Also our ancestors wiuld invoke him and he woyld certainly appear. Also fun fact look at St. Nicolas and the Ghost of christmas present in Dickens A Christmas Carol. Theres a strong resemblence. The Holly wreath especially. May Goddess and God bless you and they love you ALL. LIKEWISE MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS OUT THERE. 🌟🌟🌟⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🙏🙏☯️☯️☯️✝️✝️✝️🕉🕉🕉✡️✡️✡️♀️♀️♀️
Looking forward to this thank you. I recently purchased the book The Horned God by Stewart Farrar I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I've been busy with my Solomonic studies.
Great video! I honor and revere the Horned God through His manifestation as Pan, and also as a collective of all horned gods, the Guardian. Who guards the crossroads between life, death, and rebirth. Blessed be.
Great video. I love all animals and feel connected in helping them. If Cronos is close to me or not, I don't worship him. I just feel at peace when animals are protected.❤
I began following Cernunnos this past Spring, right before the last of the snow had melted. I am not Wiccan and I have no structured system or worship, but this video has been extremely comprehensive in describing what I believe in, how I view Cernunnos, and how I honor him and the natural world around me. Your words felt as though they were my own. By far the best video I've ever seen in the subject, and I thank you for explaining my path.
Thankyou for the path working I found it very emotional the gift I received was a stone with a spiral labyrinth on it still trying to understand what it means thankyou once again
This was an excellent video and very educational. Thank you. When it comes to the many varieties of Paganism, including Wicca, I find it curious that all branches discuss things such as the Horned God, The Goddess, the balance of Night and Day, Summer and Winter, Life and Death, in terms of opposites or seperate things. I believe that is a misunderstanding and in truth it is all one thing. Light and Darkness or Day and Night are just two extremes of the same scale. The same thing with the Seasons, and the God and Goddess. Two sides of the same coin, not separate at all, just at different ends of the same scale. We all have both Male and Female energies within us and have emotions that appear different like Love and Hate or more accurately Love and Fear, but they again are just extremes on an the same emotional scale . Life and Death are a bit trickier. As there is never an end to Life as all Life is eternal. Forms however, objects come into being then dissolve and break down to their essence or natural elements. Objects and forms are all temporary things to play with, they are exactly like waves on the ocean they come and go, the Ocean in this metaphor is Life eternal. The ocean does not mourn the loss of the waves that dance upon it.
I personally feel that the gods are bigger than our imaginations registered to pick the one that is closer to what we feel is right it's what our minds can comprehend give me the closest thing to the Horn of God in my opinion is Pan and the closest thing to the lady or as I like to call her dark mother she is Hecate. The closest thing I could come to imagining her individuality these two aspects has always called out to me.
I was part of a covern for about thirteen years. I had to move to North FLORIDA. I enjoyed your intell on the HORN GOD. I WILL BE LOOKING INTO BUYING A STATUE OF Odin OR SOMEONE ELSE. THANK AGAIN FOR THE INTELL. BLESSED BE .
Thank you for another great video and Pathworking! I really love your pathworkings. I hope you will offer more pathworkings if you feel called to do so.🙏🏻🧙♀️🦌
In Lithuanian pagan beliefs we have a god Vėlinas (later called Velnias-devil). He is a horned god, living in the forests, bogs or in caves underground. He is a one eyed magician, shape-shifter (black animals, stallions, but maybe also elks), protector of the wild life, keeper of the dead. So he has similarities with The Horned God and Odin. I'm trying to connect with my ancestral deities, but we have very little sources so I try to connect some aspects with other pantheons
Awesome video in a time when the Horned God so often gets under emphasized. I personally like to keep a basic principle of a generic God and a generic Goddess. I love the feel of that raw, clean energy that I feel. I do occasionally name the energy as a specific God or Goddess and apply the characteristics of those deities according to my intentions for a more definitive and specific result. But I like the raw pure energy best. Many Blessings!
There is a constellation next to The Goddess taking a milk bath (partly immersed in the Milky Way) called the King. The King is The Horned God to me with a set of irregular antlers. His constellation has one of the 7 Polar Stars that the Goddess is pointing out !!
I am personally with the theory that Cernunnos is a Title for all Horned Gods, hence he has no story like all of the other Gods in the Celtic Pantheon.
I love that you refer to Him as "Old Hornie". I think I first heard that term while reading a Doreen Valiente book. Or was it one of Gardner's books? Can't quite remember, lol. Hope all is well - BB
Mannon, Thank you for the teaching about that which my Welch(Celtic) ancestors might have practiced. I continue to embrace my beauty through nature. I had a visit from at least one person some years after we first spoke who represents such energy. There have been others. In my studies of Hinduism for my writings, I ask: why, in the Ramayana, does Sita desire the deer? You've help with my understanding of this. I long to return to my husband Tom. Can you help me get back home (said Dorothy to the Wizard)? Samantha 🐋
I'm rethinking my use of candles (whether ritual or more everyday). Unless they are beeswax, they will be made from petroleum. And that seems counter to all my efforts to align with, support, and protect the natural world. Wondering how others balance this.
I'm happy with that path ..eco..logical. I call it ..or fi...ology..hahaha. So who is the goddesses then ..who pairs with the horned god.....I like the green man too..I'm comfortable with that..
I need to know him more I have seen him in my dreams recently. One stupid question, as a wican pagan is it wrong to show respect for Jesus he was there till my teens when I met Mother Frigga??
Jesus was a mystic and a representation of a Sun god. He taught the Kingdom of Heaven is within, therefore promoting the idea of inwardly identifying yourself with and as the embodied Divine (the act of the Eucharist also exemplified this). Although Jesus was based off the Jewish tradition, he comprises many borrowed elements from other masculine pagan gods, as well as Buddha. As a side note, Yahweh (Jehovah) in the Hebrew texts found in Genesis is called Elohim, which is a DUEL-GENDERED term, referring to the God “the Father” as actually the source of all and is transcendental of gender (look into Hermeticism for more details on this concept). So we can take that and apply it to the idea of Mary (in her Catholic veneration version) and Jesus, as a kind of representation of the Goddess and God dynamic. So, in other words, yes, you can respect Jesus who shares qualities and traits of Sun and nature gods. However, (in my own personal opinion), only as far as the esoteric and mystical approach. To recognize Jesus as a literal deity, particularly in his mainstream Christian aspect, you would be at odds as a Wiccan to pray to him, because taking the Bible at literal face-value, Jesus is recognized as the “Son of the One True God”, demands exclusive worship, and thou shalt have no other gods before him, and any practice of witchcraft or divination is strictly forbidden. THAT SAID, there is no reason why you can’t respect Jesus for what he had provided you in your youth. Like saying thank you to an old friend before moving away to the next stage of your spiritual journey.
@@gabrielleangelica1977 Some old pictures and statues show Moses with horns, but this wasn't because people were insulting him. It actually comes from a mistake when translating the Bible. The Hebrew word in Exodus can mean "rays of light" or "horns," and when people translated the Bible into Latin a long time ago, they accidentally used the word "horns" instead of "light". Because of this, artists like Michelangelo, who made a famous statue of Moses, gave him horns. The horns weren’t meant to make Moses look bad; they were just based on the incorrect translation. Later, some people connected the horns with negative ideas, but originally, the horns were supposed to show that Moses had been in the presence of God.

That was a Christian misinterpretation of the Jewish Bible. It was later used against Jews and became anti-Semitic.
