Matt. You have been my Favorite Teacher for the past three years. Thank You Brother. I have reached a point now where my Heart is So deteriated that I can't play the Real Bagpipes any more. Buy I have a set of Border Pipes and an Electronic Chanter, and I strapped the electronic chanter onto the stock of the Border Pipes and can still produce enough Air to power the Border Pipe Drones and then play on the Electronic Chanter. So I nds Really Good. Wow! Talk about a Bagpipe addiction. But it's been a Great Life. No Regrets. My friends say when I'm in my grave they will probably hear the sound of Bagpipes. Probably 😊 Thank You Matt. You have been Such an Important part of my Journey.
Glad you finally got to unbox a set of these beauties. I've played a friend's set of Classic 4's and they are definitely a great make of pipes with a nice bold drone sound with a strong bass. They're easy to tune and are extremely steady. Cheers Matt!
Ive been away for quite some time, it's a pleasure to watch your videos again. Might be the good time to start playing again as well (no time for the last 2 years😢)
I toured Wallace Pipes in Paisley in august of 2019…. Perfect time after the World’s and got to met Craig Munro the owner/ maker… very passionate about the science with the bores of the drones and meticulous with the details of the hand turned combing…. Check them out next time you’re over there
Learning Wings now. Sounds fantastic on that set of pipes. Thanks for the video! How would you go about finding a place to practice for someone like me who’s in Student housing for school?
I agree. Although I do not have a set if Wallace highland pipes, I was able to afford an in tune practice set of Uilleann Pipes for an affordable price. Quality sets of pipes and pipe chanters, nowadays, because of the internet, are affordable, even for poor boys like myself.
@@MattWillisBagpiper mine were good. Never understand why he regarded every other brand as rubbish…D Naill, Hardies, Lowry…I thought they all played great…no difference in the workmanship
Ok, cannot remember the name of the tune that Matt starts off at the beginning of this and some other videos. Right now it is like an ear worm...I have listened to enough of his videos that given time away from them I hear this tune in my head and now I am rather fond of it and want to learn it. Anyone?
That Bag cover is DOOOPPEEE

Glad I’ve been able to help you along on the bagpipe journey here! And cool idea, electronic pipes and real drones. 👍👍

Thank you for the review. I am purchasing this set of pipes in the near future. Glad to know I am making a good decision.

Welcome back!
Nice sounding set. They do a good job at Wallace.
Yes they do!
Thanks for this, Matt!
Sure thing!
@@MattWillisBagpiper Great to hear from you, Matt! Maybe we can talk about bagpipe lessons!
Sure - shoot me an email at matt@mattpiper.com
@@MattWillisBagpiper Thanks!

Very nice sound and very nice set! The engraved ferrules are really beautiful!
Great video Matt the Wallace Bagpipes sound great 🍀🍀🍀🍀👍👍👍👍
My very first set of pipes was Wallace. I still have and play them. Along with my Laurie and Robbo’s. Not at the same time ha ha😂
Nice set of pipes. Henderson’s imports are by far my favorite pipe supply store in the US, best service too.
A nice looking and sounding set of pipes! What is the name of the tune you are playing at the 9:15 minute mark?
That's "The Pumpkin's Fancy"
Learning Wings now. Sounds fantastic on that set of pipes. Thanks for the video! How would you go about finding a place to practice for someone like me who’s in Student housing for school?
Great question! I go over this in the following video: ruclips.net/video/FE1QPIHWjqw/видео.html
I love my set... such a beginner I'm just learning how to run them..
Did I miss it? I did not hear what materials the the were made of. ABW with aluminum fittings?
Whatever sounded very smooth. Thx for sharing.
Yes, Blackwood pipes with metal alloy mounts (not certain of the material).
Wallace Bagpipes uses nickle for ferrules etc.

My pipe teacher always thought (late 80s/early 90s) that everything except for granger and Campbell were garbage…I take it this is no longer the case?
Tons of great makers, even back then. Never actually had my hands on a Grainger and Campbell set, though I've heard they were good.

First class review sir. Well done. Are you attending the world championships in Glasgow this year? Regards
I wish... Haven't made it over to Scotland since 2001. It's expensive to get across the pond!
@@MattWillisBagpiper I can imagine!!!!!! The live streaming is excellent.
Is that Henderson case carry on sized for air travel?
No, it's too long. They make a travel case and I reviewed it here: ruclips.net/video/F9UouuYAsVM/видео.html
@MattWillisBagpiper thanks!!!

It’s “All the Blue Bonnets are Over the Border” (specifically the Scots Guard 1 setting)
@@MattWillisBagpiper Wow 😮 Thank you Matt. I appreciate it. I hope you are having a good day and wish you a good evening
A good looking set of pipes with a quality sound. Is that a blackwood chanter?
This is a polypenco chanter.
What's the name of the tune played at the intro ?
That's "All The Blue Bonnets Are Over The Border" (Scots Guard 1 setting). Full tune here: bit.ly/BlueBonnets
