    You don't use gasoline and fire to make a model volcano erupt. You use baking soda and vinegar. And you also use red food coloring to put in the vinegar to make it look like volcanic lava.

      for burn wounds like that you don't want to give them anything that could cause them to quit breathing or that would hurt the wounds it's a very fine line of what you can do for wounds like that

    • @mikec2197
      @mikec2197 7 лет назад +4

      Keep in mind this was a while ago. Now paramedics most likely would give pain meds, at least where I work.

    • @mikec2197
      @mikec2197 7 лет назад +2

      Exactly, it really all depends on medical direction for each response area. Some places paramedics can do a lot, others they can't do much of anything.

    • @mikec2197
      @mikec2197 7 лет назад +2

      And it also depends on the patients condition. If the patient has a really low blood pressure or they aren't breathing effectively for example, we are going to worry about fixing those life threatening problems first, and worry about pain second.

      Panic can make you stupid. 911 dispatchers get adults who don't even remember their adress because they're so worked up. So grandma just froze from shock. Joe Dirt handed his neighbor his burned screaming son over the fence and the other dad stood there holding him til his wife snapped him out of it likely because they were also in shock.

      Thats what I did. When my oldest was 4, we moved into a new house. I was 6mthd pregnant and couldn't clean the house as well as I wanted to before getting out things in. My son found a lighter in a closet that was left behind from previous owner
      We had only stayed one night when he found it. I had noticed a burned straw, a balloon, and a small area on the changing table meant for new baby. After I figured out what happened I showed my son images of burned children... not the completely bad ones but bad burns on arms and such. He was only 4. For my son...he loved animals..so showing that really worked.

    I remember seeing this in 1990, and as a boy of twelve years, I was saddened and angry at the same time. Those two boys knew not to play with matches, but they did it anyway. They knew right from wrong and they went against the rules, which lead to young Cale Parker's severe burns. God I feel for him because I know how bad burns feel. I was burned in summercamp when I was 8.5 years old. This was a summercamp run by an agency for the blind and visually impaired, and it was a "self-help" camp in Lexington, Nebraska. They, the half-wits who ran the joint, should have known better than to insist that an 8.5-year-old blind child carried his own bowl of scalding soup to the table. So there I was, and half-way to my table, "bam!" I ran into this other blind boy, and my bowl spilled on me. Thank God above the other boy didn't sustain a single burn. I got it bad; I was burned about the chest and belly: 1st, 2nd, and damn near 3rd degree burns. So I feel for you, Cale. Shortly after the bowl spilled on me, the head councilor, George, called my mother, and his only fricking concern was being sued. I can still hear him blubbering as he talked to Mom on the phone: "Boo hoo, Norma, Jake was burned! You're gonna sue me!" She should have.

    So the kid asks if he is in trouble and the parents have no idea what to even do. I think the kid is in enough trouble, fighting for his life, going through months and months of painful surgeries and physical therapies. Honesty the kid learned his lesson I am pretty sure he won't soon forget. The way I figure it, this is punishment enough, both for him and his friend.

    Parents are responsible for this and this could be prevented if the parents put the dangerous chemicals away or lock it up with a key or out of sight sad this happened.

    They never should NEVER have been able to reach the gasoline or matches. Parents ARE responsible here. They should have been locked away safely.
