I stepped in a ground nest withe three friends! I stayed calm and perfectly still and was only stung once! Friends flailed and screamed and were stung multiple times! The youngest was stung four times and I think that was the most! My sting was under my eye which swelled shut! Friends mom intervened by turning the hose on them then took us inside and treated our stings!

Regular European honey bees wouldn't have attacked this way. He would have had a few stings as warning to get away . That's it . This is man's mistake . The bees aren't even supposed to be here .
In the 50's , a scientist went to Africa and got African bee queens , brought them and some of the bees to Brazil, One of the scientists decides to remove the screens that trapped the queens and the queens escaped . They headed north and made it to Texas in 1990 . Don't you love it when science goes wrong ???

911 should always be alert and know, who ever calls 911, it's always an emergency, unless indicated otherwise. never assume anything not to be life threatening. I've heard a lot of 911 calls where that 911 person was always talking like there's nothing wrong. The way they talk to those who called, like they were idiots. This man said; " I'm being attacked by killer bees. And what did she say? Calm down in an angry voice. How is he suppose to calm down while being in such grave pain?? Some of these dispatchers really unervse me with their attitudes.

TheCarguy20 This is close to the first time I was stung by a bee. it was September 1994 (this ep occurred in August 1994) and I was in kindergarten and there was a fire drill and I think I angered this bee that was flying around me and so I got stung. I remember that my teacher escorted me to the nurse and I was crying. I hope it never happens again. I can't remember how much it hurt but since I was 5, I'm sure it hurt a lot. But imagine that times almost a million. A nice friendly guy at my workplace suddenly died because of an allergic reaction to bee stings.
This probably would never happen today.. Our honey bee population has horribly declined in the last 5 years.. We see very few in Michigan unless you're a beekeeper and even they have serious population issues.

This is why I'm scared shitless, of mowing the lawn. Might disturb a hive of killer bees.

That would be of big concern, I live in The DFW area of Texas and killer bees are in this area because I've seen them here a couple of times.
You can relax it's very unlikely that bees will appear in your yard as they tend to make hives in unihabbied or oak wook areas

Rolling on the ground will only aggravate them. He should've started running for shelter much sooner.
Running won't do any good. Bees can travel about 10-12mph for miles.
