You have got to stop writing stuff off before it’s even got started 😂 I mean, at least give your ears time to level up 😅
This song shells on every level from start to finish - you would probably rate it more if you were deeper in to the UK scene. This one got everyone mad hyped for the Grime scene again when it came out, seeing these 3 legends on a track together and it being lyrically fire from start to finish, and a fresh, addictive grime beat.
D Double E is harder to understand I grant you - he just has one of those voices that is not as sharp as some others - but is an OG and has some brilliantly memorable bars and adlibs. The “Oooer Ooooer, Dir-tee-tee, That’s Mreee Mreee, Bi-da-bapp-bap!” Those are his famous adlibs from early and they are often enough to make a crowd crazy and get wheel up after wheel up.
I think you’d need to understand a lot more of the grime scene and the Uk to fully understand Kano’s first verse and how fire that is. When he’s talking about ‘putting in work on the roof back then, with a few mandem’, he’s talking about the pirate radio sets in the early days of grime, by which legends like these three practiced their craft. He also references people like Bushkin, and Rooney (Risky Roads).. from the grime scene. His lyrics are full of references and colloquial local
slang - Kano can often be hard for Brits to decipher!
Would recommend Kano’s Teardrops next, along with Pan Fried and Can’t Hold We Down. And 3 Wheel Ups if you haven’t already done it.

The beats the bars and the flows, even the culture is completely British. We’ve gone full circle with rap in the uk. They all were rapping in American accents, then grime came about and now with drill they are using American samples and throwing up red bandanas. Grime is pure uk rap.

Road man's hymn needs to be done, I don't think I've ever seen a US reaction of that track but please do the studio version and not the live version. Live versions are great when you can sing along but as a first impression I think they're a bad idea. You said yourself in this reaction that the mix was bad and you couldn't hear what they were saying and that's common in live versions. Do the studio version of this in your own time when you get a chance and see if it hits differently for you
