Garage is another UK music genre which was really big in the 90's which grime is thought to branch off from.. garage, jungle, drum and base usually had MC's and alot of the older grime artists did that then actually created grime which was closer to rap/hip hop but with a different flow and tempo

He’s done it many times calm down. The uk rap all sounds the same. They try and rap too fast and it makes it harder to understand and with the accent it’s already hard bars again are great but too fast and if you rap fast fine but you have to be able to understand it. I can’t stand when people say this rapper is the fastest rapper and you can’t understand a word they say. Best fast rappers are the ones that are fast and you can understand every word. He’s rewinding so much because he can’t understand most of it. Being fast doesn’t mean it’s great if you can’t understand it!!

I've had this on repeat since it dropped, it's a fucking masterpiece. Ghetts has an almost unparalleled ability to find pockets in the beat and some of his wordplay is so deep even the most seasoned vets would miss it. The man's a fuckin genius bro. Fair play for having a crack at it too, not an easy artist to breakdown even if you're from the UK. Keep up the dope work 💪
I'm from the States and I couldn't agree more. His pockets are super creative, his wordplay is brilliant, and his delivery and presence are top tier. I wish I could get my friends to appreciate some of the grime emcees. Unfortunately, most folks I show here can't get past the accent and/or have a hard time making out the lyrics and references. I had a similar issue getting folks to listen to The Streets back when Original Pirate Material was released.

Yeh garage was a reference to his car but also garage pre-dated the grime scene and was really the start of the music scene in the UK that evolved into grime. So it's also a reference to how he's been around for a long time too.
