Nathan Tettey is the Director and Creative Director at Untold Studios. He has ‘shot’ many music videos for big artists such as Ghetts, Dave, Stormzy and others.
“Omnibus” takes on two meanings: Used as an adjective, “omnibus” relates to “many things at once,” for example: bullets from a gun. However, Ghetts also references the ongoing English TV soap opera Eastenders. The show is set in the East end of London, and also has a past of criminal characters. Therefore, the second meaning of “omnibus” in this context is the airing of multiple past episodes of a TV show one after another. Unlike the actors in Eastenders, Ghetts is not pretending to live in East London - he was raised there in Plaistow.
om·ni·bus noun 1. a volume containing several novels or other items previously published separately. "an omnibus of her first trilogy" 2. (DATED) a bus. "a horse-drawn omnibus" adjective comprising several items. "omnibus editions of novels"
"The grime scene tried to alienate me. The garage called said the spaceships ready." So grime music came about after garage and was in part an evolution of garage. He's been around since some of the earliest days and so that's just a reminder that you cant alienate him from grime scene cause he was around helping to form grime in the 1st place.

So, when Ren says listen to something, it's going to bad ass. I've been dabbling in Rap and Hip Hop since Cool Herc and Grandmaster Flash. Which got me weird looks in the deep south and being a white boy in the 70's. Anyway - Ghetts has amazing cadence the references are just next level. Weaving the rhyme schemes AA BB to ABAB to ABBCCBBA ... calling back to earlier bars Love it.
"Take the pagan's belly, shoot man like Nathan Tettey": Man's talkin' about handling a hater or enemy, "pagan" here referring to someone who's not on your side. "Shoot man like Nathan Tettey" could be a double entendre - Nathan Tettey is a footballer known for his shots on goal, so he could be using this as a metaphor for taking a shot at his rivals. "Real eastender, no pretender": Simple one here, he's an original from the East End of London. He's not pretending, he's the real deal. "Violate Jan and it's corn by Feb'ry": This is basically a warning - mess with him in January (Jan), and you'll get the "corn" (bullets) in February (Feb'ry). He's saying he's not one to mess around with, you know? "For an MC, I'm way too skengly": He's an MC alright, but he's "skengly", meaning he's armed and ready. It's not typical for an MC, but he's not your typical MC. "You see, them man are like RUclips verbal niggas": He's saying those guys are just talkers, probably only tough on the internet, on RUclips. They're all talk, no action. "Internet, I ain't into it/I read between lines of intellect": Unlike the previous line's guys, he doesn't waste his time on the internet. He's more about reading between the lines, understanding the deeper meanings. "I'm from a different time/Book of Eli, I go different blind": This is like saying he's from a different era, his outlook is different. "Book of Eli" reference here suggests he might be blind to some things but sees other things much clearer, just like Eli in the film. "I told man, "Don't take it personal"/The bally's in reach, the jacket's reversible": He's saying don't take his actions personally. He's got a balaclava ("bally") ready, and he can change up (like a reversible jacket), depending on the situation. "I don't care who you know, I got Dhalsim reach": Dhalsim from Street Fighter can stretch his arms to punch his opponents from a distance. He's saying it doesn't matter who you are or who you know, he's got that reach - he can get to you. "I ain't gotta shout, just speak/You can scream your name in a well, my guy, and you still wouldn't sound this deep": He doesn't need to shout or scream to be heard or to make an impact. Even if you're shouting your name into a well (which makes your voice echo), you won't be as profound or impactful as him.
A Show called EastEnders was on TV every week day in the UK, the OMNIBUS was on a sunday where they played them all back to back, so you got a series of 5 shows.

Oh hell yes big up Ren for putting you on to Ghetts, he's not a problem, he's BEEN a problem since day one, he created day one!! Fire in the booth pt 2 and his first dailly duppy for me please, I'm sure you're gonna get hammered in the comments for LOADS of other requests for ghetts music and we've all got our personal favourites but, just swing mate, you can't miss with this legend
When a man jumps out the 5 series you know its on everyone is tuned in... like when your watching your favourite tv series but in Ghetts's fashion he's giving you the full series all in one go however many episode it is in an instant. Which is why he called it the Omnibus. Like as in giving you the full volume, chapters back to back like binge worthy material. However in this case it can be interpeted as something is about to pop off or go down and whatever happens, happens all at once.
Every sunday (soaps = TV shows based on real life in different areas across uk), they used to show the 5 day shows all at once on the sunday. It was the soap omnibus
Omnibus - basically hes referring to the show eastenders in the UK. The show plays everyday Mon - Fri. However on a Sunday they show Eastenders Omnibus which plays Mon-Fridays shows as one whole.
7:55 Omnibus is a series, meaning hes giving him all what hes learnt to crush the confidence, leads on to "a real eastender", Eastenders is a tv series (omnibus) running for like 70 years when the map pops up thats the opening credit scene of the series, but then also he is from the eastend of London.
with his grime scene bar, before space ships mentions garage - garage came before grime and many grime mc's were spitting on garage. 'Real Eastender'. He's from Plaistow in East London and Eastenders is a longstanding UK soap opera set in...East London, which would show all of its full week's episodes on a Sunday, called the Omnibus.
EastEnders is a soap in the UK. It comes in 30 minute episodes 3 times a week. On the Sunday it's show all 3 episodes back to back and it's called EastEnders Omnibus
In uk we have a daily show called eastenders and on Sundays there’s an omnibus where they show every episode for the week. The font of the word omnibus was edited in the same font of the shows logo
I may be putting too much American on this, but in the States, to carry a burner "appendix" would be to conceal a pistol inside the front of the waistband.
It’s a sick bar, “jump out the 5 series giving the boys the whole omnibus” the 5 series is obvs the BMW but at the same time in a different context the “5 series” is the omnibus, that’s deep man
Ghetts is a real OG in the UK ive never heard any rapper like him when he was younger his flow was insane he's matured into a new flow that he owns now, he came up with Skepta & wretch 32 etc
Don’t know if anyone has said this but Eastenders is a long standing soap opera in the UK, he says the omnibus bar before saying he’s a real east ender (as in from east London). ITV2 would play loads of old episodes of eastenders on repeat all day and it would be called Eastenders Omnibus on thr TV listings
Yessssss!!!! More UK reactions! Ghetts also has a Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth (just like Wretch & Avelino which you reacted to). Try to catch all the bars like Pokemon!

P-Money's Daily Duppy is FIRE! 🔥🔥
Moving on the UK grime Scene now, i love it!
There are some great artists to check out
Btw, Book of Eli is a film about a blind man living in the apocalypse, who without trying to ruin the film, seems to still have the ability to see somehow.
So in other words, ''A different kind of blind' haha
And while we are on Ghetts, on of my other favourites from him is
Ghetts - Fire in the Booth pt3
Definitely recommend checking it out!
In the Bible, Eli is blind physically but also spiritually, as he lost his connection to God. Ghetts is religious so this is another double.
Ghetts is one of the best lyricists of all time. Anywhere. I'm like you, an old school hip hop guy. Canibus, Rakim, Pun....you know. These UK guys are on a level. Ghetts, Kano are true rap OGs.
Ghetts is in a league of his own. Think you'd enjoy Yanko - Plugged in with Fumes.
Much love and respect from The UK
Ghetts is from the same part of London as me I remember him back in the day he is a very real guy love the reaction ❤ giggs and jme man don't care is a legendary grime beat you should check that out 👌👌👌🫶
I wasn't expecting to see Ghetts pop up on your feed. I'm real happy about this one. 👌
Mic Righteous is amazing on his FITB, so is Akala ❤
I'd love to see you react to some of akala fire in the booths and his daily duppys
Ghetts is a demon you need to listen to his tracks multiple times to get it he is so fire 🔥 for me he’s easily top 3 uk grime artist
So, when Ren says listen to something, it's going to bad ass.
I've been dabbling in Rap and Hip Hop since Cool Herc and Grandmaster Flash. Which got me weird looks in the deep south and being a white boy in the 70's. Anyway -
Ghetts has amazing cadence the references are just next level. Weaving the rhyme schemes AA BB to ABAB to ABBCCBBA ... calling back to earlier bars
Love it.
Eastenders omnibus. It's a daily show we have in UK and they play all the weeks episodes on the weekend and call it the 'omnibus' crazy bar.
Dude you gotta peep P-Money's Daily Duppy - it's bars on bars on double and triple entendre bars. He's also British, but way easier to understand.
That duppy is crazy for someone new to the UK scene, far too many football references loool
Ghetts is GOAT imo. Time served master of his craft! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Which craft😂😂
A Show called EastEnders was on TV every week day in the UK, the OMNIBUS was on a sunday where they played them all back to back, so you got a series of 5 shows.
Good job! You caught a lot even with the accent. Ghetts has been my No1 in the U.K. for the last 15years.
Please check out Ghetts ‘fire in the booth part 3’
Its puzzling how much i enjoy deciphering 😊
Ghetts is world class enjoy the ride. Have you don’t akala fire in the booth part 1? If not that’s a true history lesson right there. Enjoy
First time catching your rearctions bruh, love the UK love, UK is on fire right now with lyrical artists love to see some more Ghetts - Fire in the Booth (Dessert), and as much Dave as you can react too my man 🔥
You will like Ghetts - Microsoft Word!
This was cool. I never heard of Ghetts before but I really enjoyed this.
I feel like I'm cheating on Ren if I listen to something other than him but since he recommended it I guess he gave his blessing 😂
Hahahaha I know what you mean but I always listen to his recommendations!
that is so funnny...but i feel you
@@RENSPIGBUTCHER sorry but once you go down the ghetto rabbit hole he can only be your main piece. Ren will understand 🤣🤣
@@RENSPIGBUTCHER you know how deep it goes then 😂
If you want a masterclass in Ghetts, please watch Cypher. He does a full on Cypher with his alter egos. It's fucking amazing. That and Karma, because even though he's a punchliner, he can story tell too.
The burner and surgeon lines are about cutting and slingin dope
And there's a NEW Daily Duppy from Ghetts!!😱🔥🔥🔥👏💜
Omnibus - basically hes referring to the show eastenders in the UK. The show plays everyday Mon - Fri. However on a Sunday they show Eastenders Omnibus which plays Mon-Fridays shows as one whole.
You just scratching the surface. Ghetts a UK legend, one of the best worldwide. Been one of the best for 15 years + now
7:55 Omnibus is a series, meaning hes giving him all what hes learnt to crush the confidence, leads on to "a real eastender", Eastenders is a tv series (omnibus) running for like 70 years when the map pops up thats the opening credit scene of the series, but then also he is from the eastend of London.
with his grime scene bar, before space ships mentions garage - garage came before grime and many grime mc's were spitting on garage.
Ghetts is a lyrical samurai and OG from the Grime scene.. He rides this beat like a monster💯👊👊👊
Big up Ren and big up yourself for listening to him! Ghetts top 2 uk artists 💯
The "nine by my side like northsidebenji" bar is because when benji did his FITB he had Nines (big UK rapper) standing next to him
BP , I love your reaction as much as content. Keep doing you. ❤️❤️Great Grandma 👵🏼
Ghetts been had the throne from day 1. 20years plus he been on one
Genesis Elijah needs some love too. He's been grinding 20 yrs an never seems too blow outside of the uk hip hop scene.
It’s a sick bar, “jump out the 5 series giving the boys the whole omnibus” the 5 series is obvs the BMW but at the same time in a different context the “5 series” is the omnibus, that’s deep man
I cannot wait to see you go down a Ghetts rabbit hole after watching this and know you are a rapper yourself 😁
Ghetts is a real OG in the UK ive never heard any rapper like him when he was younger his flow was insane he's matured into a new flow that he owns now, he came up with Skepta & wretch 32 etc
I love RAPs with a accent soo dope 🎶😉🎤✌🏽
We still need that fire in the booth 3 as well as many of his other tracks that he has spit over the last f****** forever 😅
Its an alienation 🚀 🪐🇺🇸
Now you have started to dig into UK rap you have a lot to discover.
LOOK HIM UP MORE HE REALLL OG IN DUS GAME FROM GRIME TO NOW HE CUD SPIN AANYYY RAPPER OUT THERE TOP 5 FOR ME ..
The omnibus is linked to the next line eastenders is a uk tv soap and every Sunday they play all the episodes from the week one after another
Don’t know if anyone has said this but Eastenders is a long standing soap opera in the UK, he says the omnibus bar before saying he’s a real east ender (as in from east London). ITV2 would play loads of old episodes of eastenders on repeat all day and it would be called Eastenders Omnibus on thr TV listings
Ghetts is honestly one of the best rappers in the world!! Facts!!!
Yessssss!!!! More UK reactions! Ghetts also has a Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth (just like Wretch & Avelino which you reacted to). Try to catch all the bars like Pokemon!
