In 2020 I watched all of Mercedes' race debrief videos. Although in 2021 I didn't really watched those videos, because the very close competition with Red Bull just didn't let those debriefs useful (for me). Because who would honestly tell their detailed thinking about what's happened at the previous race?
James had to debrief the 2020 turkish GP and the reasoning for Bottas' struggles throughout the race were only half true (it was floor related). Because who would want to uncover their secrets to winning a GP?

@mayajames5576 I believe he actually still owns 5% of williams.
He has significant involvement because they supply the engine, gearbox, and an array of other systems.

Is James with Williams for the long term? I fear not! It's all part of the masterplan. He had nowhere to go at Mercedes, so in order to get experience as a team principal he heads off to Williams. (Incidentally the only team that was in need of a team principal and also Mercedes "Loyal Lapdog") So whilst James get's a bit of experience, back at the ranch Toto is trying to persuade Lewis that they can give him a car to get that elusive 8th world championship (something I personally hope he never achieves).
So Hamilton may sign a new 2 - 3 year deal with Mercedes, about the same sort of timescale Toto has said that he wants to stay on for. James spends the next 2 - 3 years trying to drag Williams out of the ditch, and then bingo, Hamilton either retires or leaves Mercedes, Toto steps down as team principal, and James will be back at Brackley quicker than you can say, James, it's Mercedes!
I desperately hope I am wrong, because I think anybody with a connection to F1 wants to see Williams at least in the fight, but that ditch is deep, the flood waters have been rising, and I don't think James will be there to save them unfortunately, need to call the RNLI.
