Dick Grayson is the my favorite Robin. He is the original and trailblazer for all other sidekicks.
Also, I love the poetry of the first Robin dawning the Bat Cape and Cowl. Also, I love that as the Batman his Robin was Damien Wayne.

Without Jason Todd, you don't get Bucky's Winter Soldier
Bucky barnes was made before Jason todd was even written.
ImANoob041 technically foxy is on to something. Bucky was created before Jason Todd but the winter soldier storyline was being told at the same time the red hood arc was going on. The writers from both comics even became aware of this. So it’s just one of those coincidences

I love how Damian is the grandson of one of Batman’s greatest enemies. So Bruce is forced to love and be wary of his own son.

He doesn't have to anymore. Damian has proved himself to Bruce time and time again. He is robin, Bruce's son, all of the robins brother, and has become a vital member of the batfamily. In my opinion

@@FinelinePictures Pshhh. At least you guys didn't have your favorite slowly stripped of everything you liked about him until he eventually became no better than Joker. Us Jason fans been waiting for our boy to be well written and important again for DECADES. Feel for you though, Tim will always be the best Robin, and it's a shame the comics do him so dirty recently.

I agree and disagree with that. While I agree it makes sense that Batman needs Robin. Batman is still a goat character by himself. And I think most writers/directors like to focus in on that when making his movies. Although if they make a bigger Batman series, I think it would be awesome to see a Robin.
Brayden Wormer batman can definitely stand by himself obviously, but THE batman needs a robin imo since it’s such a big part of the character/myth is.

I’d care to disagree, any Robin honestly doesn’t live “in the shadow of Batman” it’s more of “They have to live up to his Mantle, his heir” while they’re adopted at such a young age they know that there is a HIGH HIGH chance that when Batman gets old when he gets hurt they have to step up to the mantle, and some of them just can’t physically do it or cannot mentally put themselves through that. I think that why I personally like Dick Grayson the most, he kinda rejected the mantle of Batman by making himself an evolution of robin and or batman and I like that whenever Bruce is hurt he always steps up too the mantle, Honestly Batman is just a great series in pretty much any media

Wasn’t the whole point of Dick Grayson becoming Nightwing that he wanted to leave Batman’s shadow? Jason Todd became Red Hood, so he definitely moved on, and Tim Drake was In the Titans, Young Justice, and other teams. The Robin who didn’t move on was Damian Wayne, but that’s because he’s the Batman of the future
Nightwing is 1000% my all time favorite character. He is so interesting, unique, different, and very cool and complex. I got into comics three years ago and loved the MCU and Nolan Batman movies, but Nightwing is my favorite. He’s acrobatic, a natural ladies man, helpful, and enjoys doing what he does

I have a comic book called. " untold legend of the Batman ". The book suggests that Bruce Wayne as a kid was the very first Robin. He made the costume after his parents death. He also wanted to learn about sleuthing by hanging out with detective Harvey Harris. who coined the name Robin because of Bruce's red vested costume.

The two most important figures in comic book history are Superman and Robin. Superman being the granddaddy of all superheroes and Robin being the granddaddy of all sidekicks.

Tim Drake is the most underrated Robin! Nightwing says he’s a better Robin than he ever was. Tim was only the weakest Robin bc he was just starting but bc of his intellect he trained his body to be at peak physical condition. He’s basically Ozymandias from Watchmen.
Tim also was one of the greatest Robins in the 90s, he defined. that era has Robin, in his solo series, i remember in high school reading Tim's Adventures those are great times he really defined the robin character on his own, and became the leader of the new version of the titans in the early 2000's .

Robin is one of my favorites he is just his own character so much about him I love
I'm nitpicking but Robin was not the first character to mature in comics. Kara/Supergirl was brought in as a teenager during the fifties and became an adult during the sixties. It wasn't as dramatic and she didn't change her name, but she definitely grew up. The hot pants of the 70s were way more adult than the skirt of the 50s.

The thing tht is not talked about is that since Gothamites know Nightwing was grown up Robin and that apparently Nightwing was "outed" as Grayson, then, other than Amanda Waller, why no one making the connection with Bruce Wayne as Batman? Not quite logical.

I think Damon Wayne is a great character, but Dick Grayson is my favorite Robin.
Damian is great as robin, dick is great at nightwing, Tim is great as Red Robin, and last but not least, Jason is best as red hood

Dude at 18:30 doesn't know Ted Kord was the second Blue Beetle with the original created in 1939. And Green Lantern was basically a Legacy hero as soon as Hal Jordan was created. I get his thought, but the point is wrong. I think Dick, Jason, Tim, and Steph got to grow into new/other roles BECAUSE of characters like the ones I mentioned, who were before the 1980s.
