  • In this video from "Making Vinyl" Nashville, TrackingAngle visits Sterling Sound's Ryan Smith and Joe Nino-Hernes and gets a sneak preview of the new Nashville Record Pressing plant part of GZ Media's investment in American record pressing and The Vinylab, site of "Making Vinyl", Nashville. TrackingAngle.com's Michael Fremer moderated the opening panel "Meeting Demand When the Industry Is At Capacity". The two day event include many fascinating and informative panels especially Portia Sabin's on consumer research and what it reveals about what motivates consumers to buy records. Some of her findings are in the video. Vinyl Me, Please's Cameron Schaefer and Gary Salstrom explained "Why We're Building Our Own Plant". TrackingAngle will visit Nashville Record Pressing, United Record Pressing and Memphis Record pressing later this summer when all 3 have completed or mostly completed their increased pressing capacity (or in the case of Nashville Record Pressing, it's fully up and running) for full video tours. Schaefer has promised TrackingAngle full access to VMP's Colorado plant sometime this fall and Rick Hashimoto has promised likewise at the new Oxnard, CA plant he's opening with his son in partnership with Mo-Fi and MusicDirect's Jim Davis. It will not be solely to Mo-Fi records, Hashimoto assured me despite some erroneous press reporting. So stay tuned to the TrackingAngle RUclips channel! And if you haven't already, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!-MICHAEL FREMER, editor, TrackingAngle.com

You are the David Attenborough of the audio world, visiting places most of us can't get to. Keep going!

Another great tour, Michael - thank you! Now that "we" have a strong vinyl market again, the next mission should be to get more artists and recording companies to record more in/from analogue (the complete process). If I wanted from digital masters, I'd just buy CDs. That's no fun.

Love these. One of my favorite videos of yours was the "GZ Media" video you did a few years ago. I also haven't played my Norah Jones box yet. Maybe after watching this.

Hi Mike, awesome as always Mr. Fremer!! i'll tell ya Mike, it's so exciting with the grouth we've seen in this hobby we love so much. as always, THANK YOU for being one of the true champions of vinyl. any plans on coming back to Indiana? i think the last time you were here was for a demo or clinic at Ovation up in Indy a few years ago. i would have loved to have been there but became aware of it after the fact. i live about an hour north of indy but have shopped at Ovation in the past. i beleive they are about the only store in Indiana that sells Krell. outta my price range but i can still dream and hope!! thanks for your efforts and good luck on the TrackingAngle, keep up the GREAT work Mike!! Fremer rocks \m/ \m/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think this is where Billy Joel's "The Collection" Volume 1 was manufactured.

Hello Michael. Are you still looking for “young” writers for album reviews?

Why change. the name to "Tracking Angle" ? Analog Planet was a good name. Funny how most studios use ATC monitors, not the more expensive Magico, Stenheim, Wilson etc. I remember buying the TUSK album, years ago! REALLY badly warped.Long may you run!
