Level 7 was hilariously bad, Koopa Castle was sketchy, and there are two major speed tricks that I know of that I didn't do. Maybe sub-9 minutes coming later.

I played so many of this game's custom levels as a kid, and to this day there are certain little tiny details that just feel . . . right . . . about how it works. The fact that you move at the same speed as bullet bills, that enemies falling in lava gives you points, that holding up makes you jump repeatedly, that you press the fireball button to go into doors, that getting a mushroom doesn't pause the game; the music and sound effects that I only now realise were horribly compressed but still feel like the correct versions, those stationary piranha plants just littering the ground.
I don't think I ever reached the halfway point of the "actual game", and the life system making me lose progress was a big turn-off. But that built-in level pack was so intriguing, making use of all these little extra features that you couldn't put in your own levels - not to mention the fact that you were exploring _a map_ rather than a webpage.
Not a month goes by that I don't mourn the death of Flash.
Hi also why do you stop the timer when you see peach Instand of when you hit the axe?
Moving from the axe to Peach is gameplay, even though it's really, REALLY easy to do as good as possible, so it's included in the timing. Besides, you haven't rescued Peach yet and you didn't yet win.

How do you do that ? Block boost? I've noticed several times through the run that you gain a ton of speed by seemingly crouching whilst hitting a low ? Block. I tried doing such; no luck. How do you do that?
Also, what are the benefits to skipping the pipe at the beginning of W1-1? It clears most of the level for you.

That block glitch on Level 1 almost never works for me. Is it mostly RNG-based or is there a way to get the maximum push it gives?
The closer you are to the center of the block, the faster it will push you away. It will only push you away from the center, and only if you input the direction towards the center. So for maximum push, you would get just barely on the right half of the block, tap left, then immediately hold right. It seems RNG-like because a tiny change in position results in a considerable change in speed. so instead of learning to get a perfect position every time, I just learn to react to the different speeds.

theres a warp at the start of level 1, the second pipe. It pretty much takes you to the end
This was the Mario Maker of it's time before the Wii U and Switch releases. Used to have fun making levels in the level editor. This game got me back into playing Nintendo games after not playing for 15 years at the time.

Nice run! For curiosity's sake, wouldn't it be faster to grab the bottom of the flagpole? Mario would waste less time sliding down and the time would be faster.
The game waits for the victory song to finish playing, so it doesn't matter where you hit the flagpole, as the song stars as soon as you touch the flag.
You can't play it online anymore because Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported.

How tf you beat this
How come on some of the times you put them down when you hit the flag but on others, you put it down when the victory music finished ?
If you mean when I split the timer, I do that consistently. In the castle levels I split when interacting with the chest or Peach, because the level isn't over at the axe.
Do you know about the ch cheat you click the c key and h key with one hand and click opinion with the other hand it gives you 50 lives and unlocks all levels perfect for practice and my pal did the block Gillch without even knowing it
Yeah it's good to practice/do Individual Level runs, but it is of course not allowed in full-game runs.

Why do u collect coins in places? Doesn't that slow u down?
Coins don't slow me down. Slowing down for coins slows me down. If I seem to stop or slow down for coins it's either because I had to or I messed up. Often with this game optimal strats will look really bad because you only have one jump height.

Awesome but if you wanna play the game again do not ruffle it breaks super mario flash and super mario flash 2 you need adobe flash and the swf file of this game and boom there it is ( This works with hacks too i've recovered many on my computer that is currently broken right now )
When i attempt to run this particular flash game using the PC version of Adobe Flash Player and the .swf file, it always crashes. Did you use any Adobe Flash plugins to do it?

Hi there's a pipe that takes you half way through leavel 1 isn't that faster that doing it without the warp pipe?
You can use the block glitch to go faster than using the pipe, but you have to do very well to do it.
