102k subscribers and its safe to say that you have probably made a big impact to how a large portion of us that fish. That's pretty awesome to think of. Imagine how few people have impacted surf fishing as much as you have. Pretty cool bud.

Love when you share knowledge. I am sure that it is a but of a pain to do the graphics, but it helps the rest of us and makes us better fishermen.

Its so daunting seeing miles of beach and reading it is so important. Many peeps love fishing off the beach but they stop after blanking a few times. So you giving these tips is helping them so much. Im sure they appreciate it.

Nice ! I like how you explained the rip and the bars, still learning how to read the beach.

And the go pro on a stick was helpful combined with the graphics. I could see having the Fred's eye view a standard feature. Not always explained in detail, it could just be a part of the intro.

Nice vid. I fish the beaches of Ocracoke Island. Funny I drive the beach looking for a rip and set up. The rips on that part of the NC coast can be really strong, pull a 3 oz straight out after you cast it. Once people start showing up on the beach there always seems to be a family that sets up right next to me , even though there are miles of empty beach. I tend to point out to them that the rip I am fishing could well pull their kids out to sea and help is a half hour away.

I don’t do much with my reels. Just rinse them each time. I get some of my nicer ones serviced about once a year.

Hey Beach Bum, I got a couple of questions I'd love to ask if you don't mind. How long do you wait between casts if nothing is biting? And how long before you move to another spot?

Interesting observation that I have seem to choose on subconscious level. I knew about the basics about studying the breaks in the waves and finding the whitewater and sandbars. But your method is a interesting concept. Another thing I look for that I never seen you mention, is finding inlets or outlets of flowing water on the beach. This has always been productive for me, especially for flounder and blue fish.

I love your videos. I have been beach fishing for years in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, but I am going to start branching down to the outer banks. I like how you don't worry about getting huge fish all the time. That's why I go out there, just to have fun and get some dinner once in a while. Thanks for the videos!

Those two fish that wrapped themselves in your rig illustrate perfectly why I use only single hook setups in the surf...I do NOT want a loose hook flailing around with a frisky fish on the other one. I imagine you feel the same way. Good video on the beach "structure" as well! Looking forward to my next trip down!

Hi Matt I will be going surf fishing for the 1st time sense I lived in FL back in the early to mid 80's I am slowly getting what I need to go surf fishing mainly rods and reels I have terminal tackle and lures that will work and I know how to make any type of rigs needed. I am considering making rigs and baits to sell online which I have made and sold locally years ago if I do I will send you and the other ClickBaiterz some to try to get an honest opinion before making to many.
I wish you and your family a Happy New Year stay safe I am staying bummy tight lines Matt.

This is my first winter of surf fishing since I moved to Pensacola and it hasn't been easy. In my last 4 or 5 outings, I've caught one small whiting. I went out late afternoon today with high hopes, but when I got out there, the surf was really rough with high waves and a strong onshore wind. I turned around and went home. I'm gonna start fishing at Joe Patti's if this keeps up

Not to but in, but gets fresh shrimp. Remember human consumption shrimp probably have been dipped in sodium bisulfate . Try soaking in diet pepsi or add fish gum. And make sure to use sputnik sinkers ( you can go lighter withe better results than pyramids ). Good luck!
