You were meant to be delayed with your tpms so you could help those RVers out, if you left earlier (on time) you wouldn't have been there to help. I've had several times in my life where things delayed me and I ended up being where I was suppose to be so I can help someone out. THANK YOU! I learned three important lessons watching this video. In 2019 my 89 year old father sold his Class A thinking he was done traveling, that lasted 2 weeks before he started looking for something I (his daughter, me) would be comfortable driving. The biggest problem with Class A and Super C was he struggled to climb the steep steps to get in, so he settled on buying a 32 foot, gas, Class C which was lower to the ground. He has over 40 years of RVing and I have 3 so its still a learning curve for me and he really doesn’t tell me anything so I’ve started reading and watching videos to learn. With his Class A it had a built-in TPMS, to me its like huh? Of course with the cheaper Class C it doesn’t have the bells and whistles. Dad had the RV dealer change out the backup camera so he could monitor the tow car unfortunately you can only see the front end of the car. When I asked him about the TPMS at his age he doesn’t realize technology is always improving and he said “they’re all just junk”. Sorry dad, your last coach was 13 years old, I think they’ve improved, I bought one! Watching your video and you explaining how you disconnected the burning car from the coach, I’m going to be swapping out dads locking cotter pin for one with a clip. And lesson number three, have more then one fire extinguisher inside the rv. My dad now at 91 has an amazing memory and has RVed in every land lock state in America and every province in Canada. He now has learned you can’t just show up anymore at a campground and think they have openings and when I’m booking our campgrounds for our travels I can ask about a campground and get a yes or no response like “I stayed there 32 years ago and blah blah blah I’ll never stay at their campground again” or while driving he’ll describe a campground to a tee like “slow down there’s a amazing little campground down this next road and we’ll stop for the night” here we are driving out in the middle of nowhere and there’s not even a sign for the campground and he was right. “Dad, how many times have you stayed here?” His reply “once 24 years ago” the stories this man could tell about his travels!
I love everything about this! This is why we do what we do.....to help folks make an informed decision and let the, know what works. I have replaced my locking hitch pin with a regular pin with a cotter pin while traveling. When I stop and/or unhook the Jeep for the night, I will add my locking pin. Good call on getting a TPMS and more extinguishers! Have fun and enjoy your Dad's stories!!!
You guys are so freaking amazing. Most people would have just kept going, but you stopped to help those poor people. It's a pleasure knowing that there are people like you in this world. I love watching your channel.
Dont worry about not getting footage, Stacey. You are a nurse first! We all understand and wouldn't want it any other way! You guys keep being the role models for us RVers out there. No, you're not perfect, but you are real, and tell us what you learned so we don't have to learn the hard way in some instances! Thank you for all you do!
Glad you were there to assist! I’ve learned that its a good idea to always wear ‘real’ shoes when on the road, not flip flops or flimsy sandals, so if you need to move fast you have sturdy footwear. I’ve started carrying a FireBall extinguisher, in addition to several traditional extinguishers, for emergencies.
Absolutely, I have several Fire Extinguishers with me at all times 2 in my Truck and 4 in my rig as my Brother taught me this lesson. He burned is Newly Renovated Dune Buggy to the ground not having a fire extinguisher so I try and be prepared. I pray I never need them!! Scary
You folks not only talk-the-talk but you also walk-the-walk. Running towards a fire and helping as opposed to continuing to drive and putting it behind you is a great example of doing the right thing when called upon. Hat's off to you both. Respect.
Wow, what a day!!! Thankfully no one was hurt and the owner was in good spirits. We use the TM-88C and love it. Might be worth a look. -Chris & Suzannah
TST 507 TPMS is the way to go!! Love mine and it saved me a brand new tire right after putting it on. The valve stem went bad and starting losing air fast. Without the TST TPMS I wouldn't have known about it until after I ruined that brand new tire. I'll never be without my TPMS again
So glad to see everyone is safe, veteran responds without a second thought to help protect lives and property to the best of their ability. As a Retired Veteran and fellow Fulltime RVer I salute your heroic effort. You helped save that families home. THANK YOU as for your TPMS we use the TST TPMS but it does have a repeater. It has performed flawlessly and saved our hind ends twice. This unit does have a color monitor. Again great job and Thank you for sharing your adventures and DIY videos. 🏅🏅🏅🏅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
So thankful no one was injured! Love that people were actually HELPING instead of standing back videoing. Nice to see people helping each other again, just like the old days. I just hope more people will do the same. God Bless You All!
Added Pooler Ga Outlets to my boondocking list. Last time in Savannah we stayed in the hospital parking lot, worked for one night and ended up in Sams club next night. RV parks were all full. Loved watching this episode.
I put TPMS on my 5th wheel and TV the day we picked it up before moving the rig. Worth every penny! We carry three extinguishers in our 5th wheel and two in out truck.
This video sparked a conversation reminder of where the fire extinguishers are in our rig. Safety is not always an exciting topic, but it is sure an important one! Also, we have used the RVI tpms for about 5 years now and are very happy with it. Great customer support as well.
It's the fact that you guys are a military family! That "team" mindset plays into every aspect of life, we are a retired Navy family (FCC(SW) 22 Years) and we just purchased a 2007 Damon Tuscany 40' Pusher. Thank you sir for your service and for being such great people! We are based out of Bethera, SC and can't wait to hit the road and meet fantastic people such as yourselves!! BZ Sir job well done!
I bought a TPMS and installed it the first day while at the dealer picking up the trailer. I noticed that one of the tires was at 50%. The dealer said they might have picked up a nail while moving it. They replaced the tire immediately. Saved me a lot of trouble
Excellent job on assisting with someone who required it. You did just enough to do some saving and let the rest go. Proud of you guys! Just an idea if it wasn't mentioned, I have a coil hose connected to my outside shower and all those water hoses in storage. I have a Yardsmith mini nozzle (Lowe's product 8840). Shoots water really far. Don't put your or anyone's life in danger in fighting fire when there's no one else's life in danger, but as an example if a campfire got out of hand, etc., our RVs carry water and can be used like a fire truck pumping from the outside shower. But don't risk lives nor equipment on something insurance can replace or the locals can handle.
I have to thank you. I did not know about the TP monitor. To be honest I never thought about them. The truck has them but not the trailer (they camw with the truck). We have a 26 ft. pull camper with two axles & a 1/2 ton truck we pull it with. No issues so far. I just stop every few hrs. & check everything including the tires & hubs. Have been pulling campers for over 50 years & never had an issue with tires & fire. After watching your video I am going to invest in a set. Thank you again.
Thank you for being on the spot to help that family. I do need to call Phil out about "not running for a while". When does the Navy run, besides to the chow hall? All jokes aside, you two are great.
Phil, you've hammered home the point for having a TPMS from the very beginning. Heck you had one before you had an RV. TPMS is not a luxury. This video puts an exclamation mark on that point!
Agree, you did it right; as a Combat Cameraman there was that fine line between filming and defending. We trained for that constantly and although I never directly found myself in that situation I have a couple squadron mates that did. One my of buddies got attached to the combat damage assessments team in the first Iraq war and they found themselves in an ambush and outnumbered in the burning oil fields. Not a war story but we all listened to his video audio ( he dropped his camera still running) and immediately started sending rounds downrange while hyperventilating. He kept his wit about it as his ability to survive and operate training kicked in but you could hear the panic in his voice. RIP MSgt Dave Bass (USAF). Cancer sucks.
As someone who was a trucker for 8 years I appreciate you’re being aware of your time on the fuel island. Hated late at night. Dog tired. Needing to fuel up before heading to sleep and waiting for an rv or diesel non commercial truck taking up a lane not fueling lol
I've been watching you guys for a while and enjoy your informative videos. We are not full timers (yet) but getting there. On another note, I'm wondering when PHIL will let his hair and/or beard grow out just a tad bit. LOL. He's still sporting that high and tight ---- like I did for many years after I retired from the USMC. Hopefully one day we will run into you all on the road. God bless and stay safe.
Great "Think Safety" video. Two things are a must; Interconnected wireless smoke/heat detectors (Even Basement and Closet over engine) and ABC Fire Extinguishers (Front, Mid-Ship, Back and one for Easy External Access). The RV community still stands to be the best helping hand travel community out there! 🦺🚨🧯🚒🚔⚠️
That is so nice that you are courteous about the fuel island. CDL driver here with more than a few miles on the road and the people who cause more drama seem to be the RVers... when time is money, you just have a different mindset than someone out on vaca... thanks again!
Our Jeep can be flat towed. We had a tow dolly for our car when we first started....but then you have to store and move within your RV site. This was not our car that caught fire. A larger extinguisher may have helped.....
Good job helping to get the toad detached and then getting out of the way. Not everyone knows when to get away. As for the TPMS we use the TST color system, but we do use the booster. It’s an easy wire into the chassis battery compartment - the booster is weather-proof and dust proof and easily sticks on the wall (we have a ‘17 33AA). The booster makes it much more reliable for the toad tires.
We are glad that family and you all didn’t suffer any injuries. IRT the tire pressure monitoring system, we recently upgraded to a TST 507 TPMS. It updates faster than the TireMinder system we used to have. There is a booster but it’s is a simple 2 wire 12v hookup.
TireMinder i10 color display up to 20 tires. Comes with repeater to reach all sensors and eliminate interference. You don’t have to use the repeater but it eliminates the problem you were having with your unit finding signal from the toad. I installed my repeater behind the chassis battery and it runs off the chassis battery and turns off when turning off the chassis disconnect. Try it, you’ll like it.
We have tried three TPMS over the last seven years. We currently use the Tire Minder system, so far OK. The display is color and now shows all tires at once, a great feature. Batteries are easy to replace and Tire Minder supplies a free set anually for the small cost of shipping. I personally use an 8 inch tablet for the display rather than the factory unit. It will work with a cell phone or tablet, Apple and Android. My tablet cost $89 and the smaller Tire Minder display is about $150 so I have a larger display for less money. It's mounted on the right so the copilot has the task of watching the display, which we do watch carefully. Definitely put them on your Toad!
You folks are to be thanked over and over. We probably saved those peoples rv. god bless you. I just bought my new son in law a tpms system for his motor home. enjoy your videos
You guys are top shelf! Thank you for helping fellow campers in need! Having an overabundance of safety training because of my career, I firmly believe every fulltimer, especially with turbo diesels, should invest in an H3R extinguisher. You won't mind the cost when it just works, and it will. Safe travels. These are unique times! We had to book everything for the year by February! TST 507 and don't fear the repeater. Sensor acquisition with be dramatically faster. Simple hookup and easy to place with your rig.
Not even thinking about the 'quality' of footage! So happy to hear everyone was safe and loved how you helped out and how the RV community is so caring for each other!
Thank you for stopping to help a fellow camper. It says a lot about your characte. Even though I am a MARINE veteran I will make an exception this time GO NAVY!!!
Wow, yes, TPMS provides us so much comfort for our drive. We have had only had one tire incident, which ended up that the valve stem leaked, likely caused by the TPMS device. But your video reminded all the benefit when your are pulling anything. We have a TST, and love it. Cycle time is I think 1 minute. I did install the booster that came with the kit. And thanks for pitching in for that Family too.
Great video, thanks for reminding us how important it is to have a TPMS system!!! 🙏🙏🙏 for the family who lost their toad but thankful no one was hurt. God bless and see u on the road😀 We appreciate the way y'all handled this situation with the fire and helping those who are in need.
You know I learned more from what little video of the emergency than I would have learned if you had just taped it. Thank you for your help too those people. I travel alone and I've found such helpful people.
Glad the fire wasn't any worse, and everyone was alright. Might as well have a good sense of humor, helps in the tough times. We just joined Harvest Host with your discount code 👍🏻 plan to use it on our trip to Florida in June, let you know how it goes! Stay safe out there!
Thanks for stopping to help. And thanks for respecting their privacy and not worrying about footage. Grateful their family and their rig are safe. You get a gold star for today! Those adult beverages were well deserved!

Thanks for moving quickly to help. We like our TST-507-RV-6-C TPMS unit. Has a color monitor and easy to program. It will handle pressures used in 22.5 size tires as well as toads. Fair winds and following seas, thank you for your service.
We have the same tpms system you do. 10 sensor with no repeater and 39' Newmar DSDP and Saturn ion Quad coup. It does take several minutes to register all the readings but we love it. I always check it the night before we leave to make sure they're all good.
You two are great people who are willing to get involved to help others. Glad everyone’s ok and I’m sure you made some new friends who were grateful for your assistance.
My TPMS is the TST color model. It's fantastic. Saved our bacon first time on the road with it and once more several months later. Both times were due to a crack in the valve stem. We tow a 40' 5th wheel and so use the repeater as our total length is 64'.
Safety first!! Stopping to help someone in need is just the right thing to do. Kudos to both of you. Whoever thinks “why didn you get more video coverage” has obviously NOT been in a similar situation. Love you 2 (and Gizzy). Thank you for your military service and all the valuable info you put out to the RV community. Long time subscriber and supporters here in GA. Safe travels!!
you two are so sweet … so helpful … so kind … yesterday we had two gentlemen stop and help us lift up our 850 BMW 🏍 that fell over … and they gave us lemons 🍋 too, was incredible as many others drove right on by before they stopped to help us. We RV a lot too, just not full timers. Would be cool to see you two sometime on the road of travels … Thank you for your videos we got hooked at the start of the virus, and you gave us many adventures & great information about RVing. ~ JillyinSD
OMG! Glad y’all could help. We just bought 2 additional fire extinguishers for our new coach. The one that came with it is very wimpy so that was a priority.. I’m just learning about our coach and this really reminded me again, SAFETY FIRST!! Glad everyone is ok!
Firmly believe we are "put on a path", that we are most needed, from time to time. All the earlier delay's (and frustrations) put you two exactly where your previous training and your compassion was needed that day! Well done shipmates!!! Your video also made me re-think that having just one powder style (PKP) fire extinguisher was sufficient for our Class-A. No sir! So i actually used your guys Amazon links to the small aerosol cans, and picked up two of the 2-packs. Thank you again for jumping in without hesitation to help this family, and thank you for the "reminder" that Safety is not something to take for granted. Beat Army!!!
Thank you! We could not just drive by. We have trained for stuff like this and it never leaves us. We were glad they were able to save their home! Go Navy!
Phil, I’ve tried several different brands of TPMS and now I use the PressurePro FX system. The system uses your iPhone or android device as your screen. It shows all tire pressure and temperatures for the Motorhome at one time, hit a button and it will show your toad. After 2 years of use I wouldn’t use anything else. Glad you were able to help out and stayed safe.
Own a jayco eagle and love RV life, but owners must always be aware of what is going on with your unit. Glad you stopped to help and no one was hurt. Be safe on your travels fellow rvers.
Hats off to you both for rushing to the aid of the Super C owner by helping to save his rig from the towable fire and in using your training to assist. Salute, you guys. Safety safety safety. Good lesson for all of us.
Wow! I understand your instinct to get out and help with that fire. My dad was a navy man during WWII and told me a story about how his shipped was on fire after an attack and how every crewman knew exactly what they had to do to save each other and the ship. I was never in the military but have great respect for guys like you. Oh, and I'm not forgetting your little lady. And I'm not calling her that disrespectfully. She really is little next to you 😀. Both of you responded magnificently to that emergency.
TPMS and adding metal valve stems if you have rubber ones is a thing we learned this year. We have a non-color unit maybe our next one will be. We’ll see how your next one goes. We had a failure on one stem and we learned the tpms gadget puts weight on the stem and it’s best to have them on metal ones. Thanks for the tips!!! I enjoy watching your videos.
Just something to consider in regards to TPMS systems that we found important. Many systems do not let you know if a sensor signal is not being received. The EEZE tire will let you know if a signal is not being received. We have had good success with ours, just change batteries and seals on the sensors regularily. As well if you duals , their valve stem extensions work great and they have a nut built in to allow you to tighten them. Big improvement over what I was using previously. Thanks for all the videos , enjoy your channel!
Hey I know those people! Love happilyeverhanks! You can never have enough extinguishers. Screw the footage, y’all did the right thing and did an awesome job helping that family. Thank god everyone was okay! Also, check that your extinguishers are not expired. Great travel vlog y’all!
Phil, your EezTire TPMS is not color but it is one of the best on the market. Batteries last a very long time. The sensors do not "boot" or "cycle" as you suggest. They go to sleep to maintain the battery life. They are awakened by either talking to the receiver or by the motion of the tire rolling. Sensors will work for a short while after you stop and then turn off. If you want them to work while you are sitting still, like after you changed the battery, simply pull it off the valve stem and shake it vigorously in your hand and then reinstall. It will start again.
The fact you grabbed a fire extinguisher first and the camera second makes you guy great people thank you

I have a Expedition and read that it can be tricky to get it setup for toad. Its hard to imagine a tire causing the fire.

I love it. Phil wearing a “Lazy Hiker” shirt and Stacey wearing a “Strong Woman” shirt. Perfect!! 😂
LOL
Respect.
Bless you and the others who stopped to help! Nice to see good folks helping out those in need.
I’m going over my emergency plans for our RV. Thanks for helping those folks, and shooting this video. I’m doing TPS now.
Wow, what a day!!! Thankfully no one was hurt and the owner was in good spirits.
We use the TM-88C and love it. Might be worth a look. -Chris & Suzannah
Call Chad, he and Tara I think did a comparison on TPMS’s. I rely both on Chad and Eric’s (TechnoRV) recommendations. Those guys know their stuff.
TST 507 TPMS is the way to go!! Love mine and it saved me a brand new tire right after putting it on. The valve stem went bad and starting losing air fast. Without the TST TPMS I wouldn't have known about it until after I ruined that brand new tire. I'll never be without my TPMS again
Thanks for stopping to help most would have kept going!!!!!!!! Glad everyone was ok!! 😇😇😇
Thank you, Ben!!!
Also probably a good thing to use the extinguishers to replace and keep them new.
You guys are Hero’s!! and humble at that. Thank you for real life reporting and lessons learned. God had you both there for a reason!
Your videos are consistently honest, authentic, informative, and unpretentious. They are very helpful as I plan for my “someday”!
I appreciate that!
Kudos to you for being prepared willing and able to help and not turning on the video first. Speaks volumes about you and the RV community.
Thank you, Thomas.
Ya’ll are On Point: not blocking the fuel island AND more worried about helping than filming. WAY TO GO!!!!
You both did the right thing HELPING is more important than filming. Bless you both for being there and helping!
I bought a TPMS and installed it the first day while at the dealer picking up the trailer. I noticed that one of the tires was at 50%. The dealer said they might have picked up a nail while moving it. They replaced the tire immediately. Saved me a lot of trouble
Thank the Lord everyone is safe. TPMS all the way!!! Thank you for all the help you give to others. Safe travels!
I am very happy for those folks that you and others were there to help them! What a scary moment!!
The perfect video to highlight the absolute importance of having a way to monitor your tires. THANK YOU!!!
Wow, what a scary situation! So glad everyone is safe. 🙏
I’m glad it wasn’t your tow vehicle with the issue. Good on you for responding how you did. Much respect.
Thank you!
Phil, you've hammered home the point for having a TPMS from the very beginning. Heck you had one before you had an RV. TPMS is not a luxury. This video puts an exclamation mark on that point!
Spot on, Tom!
Your coverage of the situation was great, people are ridiculous.
As someone who was a trucker for 8 years I appreciate you’re being aware of your time on the fuel island. Hated late at night. Dog tired. Needing to fuel up before heading to sleep and waiting for an rv or diesel non commercial truck taking up a lane not fueling lol
We hate that too even in the car!
Great point!
Wear did you get that Strong Women Shirt? I love it!
Agree 100%!
The Loft
That is so nice that you are courteous about the fuel island. CDL driver here with more than a few miles on the road and the people who cause more drama seem to be the RVers... when time is money, you just have a different mindset than someone out on vaca... thanks again!
The other question I have; why not go with a trailer for your car vs towing? Would another extinguisher have done the job? Or a larger one?
Our Jeep can be flat towed. We had a tow dolly for our car when we first started....but then you have to store and move within your RV site. This was not our car that caught fire. A larger extinguisher may have helped.....
You two are the nicest people!
Thanks Staci!
"Every Sailor is a firefighter!" Love it, Bravo Zulu.
TST RV TPMS Color screen and all... 😁💖 OLT
Love HappilyEverHanks...
We are glad that family and you all didn’t suffer any injuries. IRT the tire pressure monitoring system, we recently upgraded to a TST 507 TPMS. It updates faster than the TireMinder system we used to have. There is a booster but it’s is a simple 2 wire 12v hookup.
I don’t know how many times we’ve been in that position. Somehow it always seems to work out.
Yeah, it was fine.
Are you still using RV Trip Wizard?
Yes. I like it much better than the Dyrt.
You folks are to be thanked over and over. We probably saved those peoples rv. god bless you. I just bought my new son in law a tpms system for his motor home. enjoy your videos
Your TPMS problem held you up enough to help a fellow journeyer out. Good job helping.
So glad you helped out that family in trouble. We agree, whole-heartedly, that a TPMS is a good idea when RVing!
Not even thinking about the 'quality' of footage! So happy to hear everyone was safe and loved how you helped out and how the RV community is so caring for each other!
Thank you for stopping to help a fellow camper. It says a lot about your characte.
Even though I am a MARINE veteran I will make an exception this time
GO NAVY!!!
As a retired Firefighter, I'm a big proponent on safety & extinguishers are top of the list.
Wow. So glad no one was hurt and they didn’t lose their rig. Thank you for helping them. You’re truly kind folks!
Navy firefighter training coming in handy. Great job guys
Thank you, Wilma.
Good job, seen one car fire, seen em all. Cars are replaceable lives are not. Both of ya deserve an " Atta boy "
You know I learned more from what little video of the emergency than I would have learned if you had just taped it. Thank you for your help too those people. I travel alone and I've found such helpful people.
We always find helpful people in the RV community too!
Thank you!
Your heart is in the right place. Help first....film second, or third, or fourth. Thank you for being Loving humans to care for others. Shame on those wishing you got everything on film. Thanks for acknowledging what’s “really important”. Cheers and God bless 🙏🏼⛺️😎
Wow, thank you
Thank you for being you .No one wants to help there neighbors. I would hope if I was in trouble you guys would be around
Wow! Seeing the SUV go up in flames is for sure a wake up call to having fire extinguishers at the ready.
Safe travels!!
you two are so sweet … so helpful … so kind …
yesterday we had two gentlemen stop and help us lift up our 850 BMW 🏍 that fell over … and they gave us lemons 🍋 too,
was incredible as many others drove right on by before they stopped to help us.
We are in Black Hills of South Dakota, close to Hill City & Custer & Keystone.
Remember you stoping at the Prairie Berry Winery, I think with Chasing Lanes youtuber’s.
We RV a lot too, just not full timers.
Would be cool to see you two sometime on the road of travels …
Thank you for your videos we got hooked at the start of the virus, and you gave us many adventures & great information about RVing.
~ JillyinSD
Phil and Stacy at the right place at the right time. Glad you could help a fellow RVer. Great video.
