- China Davis said she was attacked on a Metro Bus April 13, and her aunt is calling for accountability from Metro and the teens police accused of attacking her. Police arrested a 13-year-old, 14-year-old and 17-year-old in connection with the attack and said they were still searching for two more.

This used to be a way worse problem in the 70s , 80s and early 90s

Whoever trying to help could be charged with "assaulting a minor". "Protecting the criminal" laws have discouraged people from stepping in.
In a country where women barely get a slap on the wrist for crimes that would normally get a man decades in prison, I can confidently predict that those teens will just get probation with maybe a splash of some form of anger management classes and maybe some BS community service.

Layers of failre starting in the home, through the school and the community, to the legal system. Don't let it go, litigate, and make it a community issue, because it is. Why isn't a mob on their property demanding justice?

Maybe if they were punished for their first crimes this may not have happened. Not punishing criminals for their crimes just tells them to go ahead and do it again. What is going to stop them?
And the sweet teens will only get probation. Watch. It takes someone to die to get prison. It’s terrible. A man was hit by a car by a woman with road rage at a school and he had several hospitalizations and surgeries and the prosecutor and defense attorney agreed to give the woman probation. PROBATION! She ran him over in front of school kids and her child in the car. The victim pleaded with the judge to give her a prison term and the judge rejected the defense and prosecutors probation and put her in prison for I think it was 8 years.
My god, these teens need to spend serious time in jail!!!!!! Tried as adults!!!

Terrifying for the victim and those people witnessing this assault! People are too afraid to get involved much of the time sadly! You have to weigh Up if you can intervene safely these days! I have been in situations where I physically intervened and others where I called The attackers out and called for help. It is a Horrible feeling when you feel that you cannot effectively help, horrible. I am very sorry that this young woman had to go through this! ♥️

This happens in almost all democratic cities now including Dayton where I live. I have been assaulted multiple times and when you call the bus company to complain they tell you there is nothing they can do and bus riders are on their own when facing a criminal element on their buses. I rode Dayton buses in the early 90's and there was no problem re: assaults. So if you ride buses in a big democratic city now, good luck!

I agree with her on some things, but they do need jail time. Jail time can be a wake up call for some and lack of consequences are part of the problem. Bad parenting is also part of the problem, but not in every case. I think we already know the root causes and punishment is needed including suing the parents.
