- "The Loved One" is INXS 3rd single and it was released in May, 1981.
It is a cover of a 1966 song by Australian group The Loved Ones. The song was recorded at Studios 301 in Sydney and it wasn produced by Richard Clapton.

Wow, when this started I had no idea what it was and I have every INXS record. I was scratching my head. Cool version. Love the Kick version best but this is dreamy.

This is a great version, but I prefer the original, and like the way it changes metres from 9/8 in the verse to 12/8 in the chorus.
