Thank you so much Every since my dad introduced you to me I have been using your videos every day when I play since grade 1 and now finishing grade 3 So thank you very very much
Well played. I've been teaching for years and very rarely do I like all the pieces. However this time I like them all. Makes me wish I was young again. Thanks for the effort. The student will have difficulty choosing because they are all good. Cheers Peter :)
How very generous you are in sharing your stylish and sensitively played renditions of all these pieces . Beautifully done! So helpful to students in preparation of their exam programmes. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! I loved Study in D minor and the sleepy panda one, they are so beautiful... I can never get mine to sound as full and expressive as yours do
@@JulianLambert Thank you! I do like that you have a backing track for Hound Dog. Up to now, my best piece is The Night of the Sleepy Panda because my teacher said that I followed every dynamic change based on the song. Anyways, thank you for the love on my comment and have a good day!
As an aspiring pianist who is going to take this exam soon, is there anything you'd recommend to help skills in piano? I chose Study in D minor, Les Coucous Bénévoles, and Angry Birds theme as my 4 songs. I've been watching your videos and loved them, you seeming to be very skilled in piano, thanks.
This is awesome content and ive been following from quite some while now. Is there a place that I can go to online to see an explanation/breakup of what are the learnings of the piece? Instead of just playing it as is.
Thanks for the lovely feedback. Yes, either go to my website www.julianlambert.org where you'll be able to access tutorials or go to my site on Teachable julian-lambert-s-school.teachable.com/p/home where you'll find bigger-better tutorials.
Hi! Thanks for the explainations. Regarding the study in D minor the book says allegro 76 bpm but I feel that this performance is pretty much faster. Is it only my impression?
Hi. In Rodina piece, I notice in the beginning of some of the bars there was 2 notes side by side but they was the same note. What does it mean then there are 2 notes that are side by side but they are the same note but different beats? Which notes do you play?
Thank you for posting these videos. They really helped me. I got a merit from intial grade last year!! Without your videos, the pieces would’ve probably sounded worse😂. But doesn’t Andante have repeated sections that need to repeat?
Thanks for your lovely comment. Congratulations on your great exam result 👏. Yes, you'r quite right there are repeat signs in Andante, but we don't play repeats in exams.
Do we repeat in Andante because in the video you didn’t repeat but my piano teacher is saying that we have to repeat 😅 I’m really confused can you please tell me if we have to repeat.
The composer has decided to create a piece using just the black keys. Together, the 5 black keys give us a 5-note scale - a pentatonic scale. This is a fundamental starting block for many types of music from all over the world. You'll come across it many times on your musical adventures.
Ooh, it doesn't really matter, both exam boards ...any exam board, is simply providing stepping-stones to becoming a better musician. I wouldn't spend any time worrying about which route, but make the most of whichever way you decide.
Thanks, but I have a question. In the music for 'Les coucous benevoles only the first two bars are marked as staccato but you seem to play staccato all the way through. Is this a convention?
Yes. Often Baroque keyboard music works well with a slightly detached touch. Notes on the harpsichord or clavichord would fade far quicker than on a piano. It's a taste thing. 😀
can someone please reply. I want to know if the "Les Coucous Benevoles" and "study in D minor" is supposed to be played that fast. Because when I played it the same speed when he played it, my teacher told me that that's not how fast you're supposed to play it.

Yes, I agree Peter, a great selection here.
Thank you for your talent and incredible generosity. Its the closest thing to having a private teacher. Your students are very lucky.
Thank you Peter! 😃

Hello sir. Really love all your videos. A doubt.. can we add backing bass or drums while recording for exam?
Thx for the feedback Ivanshika, thanks for watching. No you wouldn't be able to use these backing tracks in the exam itself.
❤️love form morigaon town,assam,India.....🙏🙏🙏
Great to have your support - thanks Groove Studio!
Epic
for the first one extend the last note on the right hand for each bar
please could someone help-me find examples of the vocal syllabus
11:09 good
We're missing that synthesia (animated piano keys) like in last year's video.
Good point ...and your not the first. I do use it in all my new videos now.
Hi! Thanks for the explainations. Regarding the study in D minor the book says allegro 76 bpm but I feel that this performance is pretty much faster. Is it only my impression?

Perhaps try slowing down the video to see how it goes?
I have play Andante the night of sleeping panda and Bartok
Hope they're going well.
Can you do tortorial on les coucous bénévoles?
Yes, there is already one available to subscribers on the website.
Les cuckoo benevoles
Last bar bass clef B F# B to be played legato or staccato?
I'm hearing them slightly detached, as I was playing the RH semiquavers, though you may prefer them to be smoother. There's no right or wrong.
Thank you for posting these videos. They really helped me. I got a merit from intial grade last year!! Without your videos, the pieces would’ve probably sounded worse😂. But doesn’t Andante have repeated sections that need to repeat?

Thanks Mon. It's in the planning, though not till the new year.
Do we repeat in Andante because in the video you didn’t repeat but my piano teacher is saying that we have to repeat 😅 I’m really confused can you please tell me if we have to repeat.
We shouldn't play repeats in Trinity exams.
One tiny mistake during the second page of Sleepy Panda... bar 22...there is a D on the Treble clef
I watch your videos everytime but I want to know how much years are you
Sir how we can download the piano piece in pdf fromat
I'm not aware that they are dowloadable. The MTB exam booklets are.
You are a beautiful pianist. Thank you for sharing the exam pieces. It makes me miss my piano lessons
Thank you Lisa. 🙏
Why are there no white keys in the night of the sleepy panda?
The composer has decided to create a piece using just the black keys. Together, the 5 black keys give us a 5-note scale - a pentatonic scale. This is a fundamental starting block for many types of music from all over the world. You'll come across it many times on your musical adventures.
Do u think ABRSM syllabus is of same difficulty in grade 3 or more difficult?
Ooh, it doesn't really matter, both exam boards ...any exam board, is simply providing stepping-stones to becoming a better musician. I wouldn't spend any time worrying about which route, but make the most of whichever way you decide.
Ballade in bar 23 bar is ritenuto. 12 bar diminuendo??? Please provide in the book CD with background not everywhere dynamics is right
what would you recommend as a third piece? im doing study in d minor and ballad .. but im not sure what my last should be
Ooh, one that you're going to want to practise.
