I need to get around to reading "White Noise". "White Noise" was recommended to me thanks to an English teacher during my junior year of high school, along with "The Beach" by Alex Garland and "From A Buick 8" by Stephen King. I have "Libra" but other than that I'm reading "Infinite Jest" and "Authority" (that's book two) of the Southern Reach Trilogy.

"Fight Club" was o.k. but I'm probably speaking false doctrine, lol.

    Don DeLillo is so great!
His best book is "Cosmopolis" in my opinion.

I love White Noise, I know the “airborne toxic event” is often given as a description for the plot, but it deconstructs the plot, just like everything thing else in the book… I find the humor, the cutting honest sarcasm to be at center stage. Searing the irony, and the climax even admitting this. I think it is one of the the most insightful and funniest novels ever. It is brilliant. Mao II is a bit too serious for me, I still love it, the mystery and allure. I feel like the whole idea of a novelist being “as important” as a terrorist fell a bit flat. I know what he is going for, the idea that someone using words can be as powerful (or more) as someone using bombs. And I agree with this! Words can be more powerful.
