Pynchon wrote a preface for "Stone Junction" by Jim Dodge. Pynchon also blurbed Tom Robbins's "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues," and "Slackjaw" by Jim Knipfel.
"An astonishing piece of work!... I wasn't at all prepared, reading a book with such laughter & vertigo, to be moved as deeply as I was." • Thomas Pynchon blurb on the back of the anthology UNBEARABLES, Autonomedia
I've never met anyone else who has read Steve Erickson who i think us a great writer. "The Sea Came in at Midnight" is another one i liked a lot as well as"Shadowbahn".
Yeah, Blood Meridian is a great book. Sort of numbing because of the level of violence. And I don't think about it as often as I think about The Road. But Cormac was obviously one of the great modern novelists.
That Pynchon blurb on Warlock was incredible

What are your thoughts on Blood Meridian? Curious because you mentioned it and it is my all-time favorite novel

Why is Blood Meridian good? Why do you like it?
What about Farina's Been Down So Long?
"Nog" by Rudolph Wurlitzer comes with the Pynchon blurb, 'The novel of Bullshit is dead'.
He also had a blurb for Saunders’s Civilwarland. Unsurprising.
Warlock is great.
