I bought a barrelled action in 6.5 Creedmoor. Dropped it into an MDT chassis that accepts ACIS mags, worked over the HACT trigger sent the bolt off to get a big chunky handle/knob fitted ,fitted an adjustable vertical grip and it's a real shooter. I love it and will buy another one.
I have a couple Howa rifles. A 1500 in .243 and a "Mini Action" in6.5 Grendel. For rifles running in the $450 to $500 US range they're excellent shooters. Both of mine are sub-MOA rifles. Actually, I have $1000+ rifles that aren't as smooth and accurate. Mine both came in a combo with Nikko Stirling scopes that are pretty good for beating around in the woods with. If you're thinking about it, just do it. Worth every penny.
Just my experience with my Howa 1500 in 308 Winchester. I believe this is one of the most accurate budget bolt action rifle in the market. My rifle is identical to the model shown in this clip except it has the matt-blue steel barrel action with the Hogue Stock. I have a Burris Veracity 5x-20x 50mm scope and a Harris bipod attached to it. Shooting from a table with Federal 168 gr HPBT Gold Medal match ammo the rifle will consistently produce 5 shot groups measuring 0.52 to 0.43 inches center-to-center on a target 100 yards away. Using my handloaded ammo with 155 grain HPBT (Sierra Match King and Nosler Custom Competition) match bullets the group size decreases to 0.30 to 0.27 inches C-T-C.
I have a 243 that doesn't care if it's a Remington or winchester 100 grain softpoint as it will poke all three rounds into a single jagged hole everytime I do my part right. I have noticed that it takes 50-60 rounds to smooth out the bore and fill in the imperfections with copper. I clean after going to the range and only fire 3 groups between cleaning. I always wait for 15 minutes between shots to let the barrel retract from the heat. This is the hardest part of accuracy testing but it sure gives me all the confidence in the world when I am hunting. Never had to shoot a deer more than once.
I have two Howa 1500s. A .243 that I mounted on an Oryx chassis with an Arken scope, and a .223 mini on an Australian Precision chassis also with an Arken scope. The.243 Oryx is vastly superior to.223 Australian Precision when it comes to accuracy. I bought the.243 on an Axiom stock. It shot terribly. I hated it.
I have this rifle in .308 . It is deadly accurate with a full barrel up to 400 meters with a Carl Zeiss 3-9 ×40 MC scope. I can shoot an MOA of .7 to .5 all day
What would you go for (308), Howa 1500 with the MDT stock in this review, a Bergara B14 with a similar stock, or the tikka t3x a1 tactical? I’m Undecided and looking through every review I can find and it’s blowing my mind 😂 I have around £2000 maximum spend unless you can throw a spanner in the works with another option
I own an Howa 1500 in 308 with a Tac Stock Love it !!😍👍👍

I love my old Howa 1500 chambered in 270 win , it’s not as fancy and it is a older version but it’s a hell of a good shooter.
I'm interested in 270 if it's have threaded barrel and stainless steel on it that's only my choice if I can have one like that in Howa
