For number 30, you mention one red wire, but there are 3 wires showing on or around it. Where do the other two go/come from?

This is a multipart series, the other wires were installed in earlier videos. Here is a link to a wiring diagram www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiring/bug_6869.jpg which might be helpful if you haven't watched the others.

Does this series cover up to 1974? Or are there any significant differences with the harness from 69 to 74?
As with most I've seen, the harness on my 74 has been hacked and butchered countless times over the years. I have a lot of electrical components that either don't work or work intermittently. I plan on replacing the entire harness eventually but I would like to ensure everything works properly before doing so.

    Hello,
Thank you for this video very helpful.
Our 1974 VW super beetle the fat red wire on the generator got fried and when I was inspecting it I pulled on it slightly and it broke from the fire wall. Can you tell us exactly where this wire goes through the firewall and where in comes out at under neath the back seat and what does it connect to under neath the seat? Thank you.

Hello James! The red power wire feeds through the left upper portion of the engine compartment to the voltege regulator under the rear seat. We do have the rear main harness for the 1974 Super Beetle here: www.jbugs.com/product/WM-131-1974.html

    Hello,
Thank you for responding. I'm hoping I only have to replace the red generator wire. What drew me to your site was the dome light video. Our dome light is missing and I don't see the wires inside the hole, I'm sure they are there some where. Will the dome light wire if grounded inside the hole some where will that cause the red generator wire to fry? Also can you tell me where the dome light wires come up into the dome light from where? Thank you.

      Hello again James!
The dome light harness and the power wire are fused typically and wouldn't cause the generator wire to fry. The dome light harness is run up the driver's side A-pillar as shown in the video.

Hello Gustav! The only printed material showing the wiring harness installation steps would be the instructional manuals included with the wiring harness.

If and when a complete wiring harness for the 1973 and later curved window Super Beetles is made, we will be very happen to be able to show the installation. Currently though, no one offers a factory replacement harness.
