This is a really informative and interesting video! I enjoyed looking at how high quality maps like these are made. I would love to see a tutorial for a free program. Keep up the amazing work!
This is all really helpful, but the one thing that I don’t quite understand is how you did the borders for neighboring countries, like Germany and Poland for instance. Did you outline Poland with the curvature pen tool precisely enough so that it lines up with Germany or something else? This is something I’ve been struggling with when trying to make my own maps :/
Ok let’s say you start off with Germany. You can either make it with the curvature pen or with a pencil. Once you get your solid shape you can apply an internal stroke to create an outline. Next door is Poland, so you make a Poland layer with the curvature pen or a pencil. Since it’s hard to line up exactly, you can have Poland overlap with Germany. Then select all of Germany, click on your Poland layer, and delete Germany from Poland. That should line them up. Then you can apply a stroke to Poland. Lmk if that answers your question

I think pencil looks better than curved tool.
