That's a great idea and thank you for posting this, for all those with the same set up I'm sure its been very handy, even if just gave them the confidence to try it for themselves....which, I have to admit is probably why I've looked at it. I've changed batteries on many a classic motor in the past but I'm afraid to try on our Ducato cos of the cutout box on top. In this vid, it doesn't seem to block access as much as ours. I was hoping to see a chat about it, why its there and how to get rid of it, ideally. We've found it very hard to charge the battery up in situ, as the contraption on top prevents a clip from connecting to the pole. The best we can manage is by clipping it onto the bracket. We have a Ducato motorhome but the battery set up is completely different to this, its in the engine bay. That may be cos it was originally a minibus taxi, which was later converted to a motorhome by removing the centre row of seats and putting in a Vangear kitchen pod. Tangent, apologies. Back to the battery, its very tight on the left side of the bay, the battery faces toward the centre, as do the poles. The cutout gubbins almost completely hides the top of the battery and further pole and is partly beneath the bulkhead metalwork so visibility and access are rubbish. If anyone else has a Ducato with an alt set up too, I'd be grateful for tips
Thank you for this. I have just been to see my motorhome today and the battery is totally flat 2.3v. So it will have to come out, never done it before so this was really helpful especially as my motorhome is An Autotrail which is ident to your video clip.
Jump Start Positive cover is removed by putting vehicle key in slot and push forward or backwards the cover comes undone, you can then connect Positive (Red) jump start cable, all this in the vehicle manual that comes with the van !!!!, same for Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer !!!!
thanks was perplexed how to remove the positive was not sure about the two screws. Would add to use two cables while replacing the battery to never actually leve the computer without electricity - not to loose the settings
Suns gone past the old yard arm so cheers, time too sort out the old batteries. Lady Fartwell likes my audio as well, but as for my visuals. She thinks she’s got the wrong glasses on.
Many thanks me thunks!! air filter ducts are not just dirty, they are absolutely filthy, a bit like lord Fartwells back entrance at Fartwell Manor. I’m going to have a word with bestie Bill the butler first thung in the morning! Tootle pip for now old bean and only splice the main brace after the sun has gone past the yardarm.
does anyone know what the connector is not plugged in for? time video 3:44. I also have it with the accumulator, but I don't know what exactly the pre-preparation is for. thank you
I removed the front seats and the mat on the front seat floor on my Fiat Ducato 1996 model, only to discover there is no hatch leading to a leisure battery there, so i concluded that my leisure battery must be located somewhere else. Cant find a single article or video online on where it might be located though, if anyone has had to deal with this particular problem before, please give us a shout out, because i still need to find the leisure battery to get the indoor lights working again
Excellent and frightfully polite old chap. The chauffeur had it orf in two shakes of the greyhounds tail.
Good show, always good for the chauffeur to have it orf.

Sorry when you live in Fartwell you need as many vent tubes as you can get!

Chocks away! The sun is coming back across the yard arm, so let make it a good summer ☀️
