Leslie Nielson has some very big shoes to fill. I agree with you, because Neeson is so unexpected, it's possible it could work.
He was in a comedy years ago called High Spirits. I don't recall him being laugh out loud funny, but he did have a sense of humor. He seems pretty laidback and funny in interviews too. I'm interested in seeing this version. But instead of making a remake, just continue it. Naked Gun 49 4/16!
