      How you finding the MB10? I too am a Studio One user and have tried to switch to a better sounding DAW if such a thing exists.

      @@darkozoric4184 Mixbus is awesome, the workflow is very similar to what you get on a mixing console so it could be a good or bad thing depending on your taste, when it comes to the sound it actually has a sound as every channel is adding harmonic distortion due to the emulation of the console and it sounds great.
      the only negatives is the slight learning curve that comes from it being based on an open source DAW but after a few hours tinkering with it you'll be flying and it might fell rough around the edges when it comes to presentation but as a whole totally recomended.

    Really cool video. I mixed some songs in harrison that I recorded in reaper, and the difference is wild. Thinking about upgrading to version 10. Did you ever buy the course offered by Harrison, mixing tips by a reggae producer named Mondo? It was offered a long time ago, but it really blew my mind and opened up a lot of the possibilities of Mixbus.

      been using Mixbus since Version 3 and since I learned pro audio on a actual analog consoles, and having some experience with computer sciences and through it Linux and open source software which makes up the back end of Mixbus (Ardour) it was natural to me to adapt to the workflow so never I got into any online tutorial but I will check it out now that you got me interested.

    How did you linked the eq dials to your mackie controller?

      The SSL UF8 supports officially Mixbus. even though it is using the Mackie Protocol the integration is very comprehensive and beyond what a regular surface would be

      That explains, I'm trying to set my streamdeck to control mixbus, and for the life of mine, I can't figure out how link any eqs dail.

    How does the sound of this match up to Universal Audio's LUNA?

    • @bardonmusic
      @bardonmusic  3 месяца назад

      Mixbus feels more gentle and warm while luna when fully upgraded has a more aggressive and attack driven tone

    what size monitor would you reccomend?

    • @bardonmusic
      @bardonmusic  2 месяца назад

      if you mean Speakers, it depends on the size of your mixing room the rule of thumb would be the smaller the room the closer you are to the speakers which means the smaller the driver should be, in this room which is not that big I'm working with small 5 inch speakers and a sub woofer as the main speaker set up, but I also got a pair of Auratones as the mid range focused system and a single mono Avantone for my mono referencing. when it comes to my screen I am all about ultra wide monitors as they rock for mixing due to its screen ratio.

      @@bardonmusic actually i meant monitor screen, i'm wondering if it's better to go with a widescreen to see all the tracks

      @@user-vc3fr2kb3l I knew it haha... I totally recommend ultrawide as it gives you the real state needed to have access to all of your tools while working

    Now that it is free for Big Six owners I downloaded this.... 1st impression is that it is garbage. Won't even load on my system. and the initial interface looks like something out of the Windows 3.1.1. era. No wonder they are giving it away. Promptly deleted. I have plenty of DAWs and enough plugins to get this 'analogue sound'. I'll stick with those an SSL 360.
