Im gonna be making white anemones for a cake in 2 weeks, should i use a petal dust or luster dust on those even if the petals are white?

@MermaidJassica As far as what you can make with gumpaste, your only limitation is your own imagination. : ) Gumpaste is edible but its not really great to eat as it is quite hard when it dries. If you want yummy decorations, try making them with royal icing, buttercream or modeling chocolate.

@deenasty77 I don't love cloth covered wire for flowers (others may disagree, but I think it's the general opinion). Use a covered wire (but it is like a plastic covering, very thin), and then bind with floral wire once the flower is on and dried. The difference is gauge is kind of opposite as it might seem - the higher the number, the thinner (you might see them as thin as 30 or higher), and the lower the gauge, the thicker. Most people use between 22 and 26 for petals and stems.

@hayarsalanecasa The center of the flower was made using a JEM Button/Daisy Center Mold and black stamens, both of which you can purchase at Sweet Wise.

@hewitt275 Sorry about that. The description/title we used was not complete. The complete title/description is
    - All in One Rose Veining Mat Silicon Impression Mold. If you use any couple words from that description, you should be able to find in our store. Thanks for shopping Sweet Wise!

@hayarsalanecasa If you use the search feature at the top right of the web store, and type in "stamen", you'll see the black ones listed second.

@hayarsalanecasa Sorry, I just saw this. I just did a search, it is there. Type black stamen in the search box, it comes right up.

Hi, I haven't read all the comments so I apologise if this has been said previously, however - I don't know about Health and Safety regulations in the US but here in the UK we CANNOT insert wires directly into the cake - even if they are covered in florist tape - florist tape is not catagorised as food safe so must not come into contact with the cake. We must insert them into a flower pick/straw that is food safe and then insert that into the cake. If you are watching this video in the UK please do not follow the advice about inserting into cake - Environment Health does not allow it. THank you

If you do not want the florist tape to touch the cake you can cover it with green gum paste and it won't directly touch the cake.

@PoshPinkScrapper It's just vegetable shortening. This term is used more frequently in Europe.

@bellajacklil It depends on the look you want. If you want it matte, use petal dust. If you want a little sparkle, I'd use luster dust, the Silk White. I think a little sparkle would be pretty.

@bellajacklil You don't have to, but it gives it a softer look. The luster will give it a bit of a sheen, which really draws the eye to the flower.

Thank you for your tutorial. Did you use premade stamens or your own. If so, do you have instructions for that. Thank you
