I have a 2007 outlook . Is installing the radio wire harness in the back of the vehicle and running all the wires to the front or do I instal them behind the head unit . I want to keep the factory amp running for the interior speakers
I have that same exact stock radio in my Saturn Ion 2007. I wanna upgrade to something like the one you got. How did you add the camera for reversing? I thought you were going to show how to install it hence the word "installation" in the title of the video
it's not hard. Need to remove the door panel of the tail gate. tap into the wiring for backup light to power the camera. the cable from the camera can be ran through the hole that is not used by the license plate (there are 4 holes on behind the license plate, top two are used by the plate screw, bottom two holes are plugged. Remove the plug, you can run the cable to inside of the car). After that, run the wire to the top of the tail gate where there is a robber conduit that runs wire harness from the tail gate to the head liner. From there you run the cable to the front of the car to the head unit. Watch this video: ruclips.net/video/lmddU5tFPPc/видео.html
Could you tell me how you ran the wiring for rearview camera? Also, did you connect the red power wire that is attached the video cable from the rear view camera? Thank you!
Add another question. I suppose you mounted the camera on the tailgate rather than on the bumper, since the backup light is on the tailgate, am I right? The question is how to run the camera cable from the tailgate to the head unit in front. Did you have to remove the door panel of the tail gate? Thank you in advance!
I removed the inside door panel, and gained access to the backup light. I grounded the camera to a bolt on the tailgate and took the power from the positive side of the brake light. I also used positive from bake light and connected the red power wire that was with the rca cables and ran that to the head unit as the trigger wire which turns on the camera and puts the rearview display on the head unit when the car is put into reverse. I ran all cable through rear hatch factory wire boot, into headliner ran wire down through front passenger pillar.. under carpet.. to head unit.
thank you so very much for the reply. I did the same. One more question. Everything worked fine on mine except the steering wheel control. Did yours work? I did connect the CAN Bus decoder to the main wire harness. Thank you!
@@cfong16 my steering wheel controls work like well. You may have to go into the settings and make adjustments.... I think.. lol. Also contact the seller and ask them as well.
Did you use the car’s (BOSE) speaker system for Bluetooth phone calls or the speaker sent with the unit? Also, did you use the original GM backup camera or use the one that came with the unit?
Harold Robinson I used the aftermarket camera that came with the unit. But I believe there was a harness included if you already have the factory camera. For navigation I just use Google maps..
I'm considering purchasing a similar Android based unit for my Sierra. I have a couple questions though if you don't mind. 1. Can you use the internet connection from your phone to run the internet on the device? And 2. How did you get your vehicle specific loading logo to show while the system was booting? Was that preinstalled and you just picked your brand? Or did you have manipulate OS to get that to work? Thanks for your time!
Jason Dwyer yes, i use the hotspot on my phone to run apps. There are all the car logos installed on the unit. You can select the car logo in the "settings" menu
Everything worked well on mine except the steering wheel control, which doesn't work. The iGo worked on mine without the "resolution mis-match" error as shown by the original author. My radio is a different brand called Hizpo, android 7.1 Do the steering wheel control work for everyone else?
Thanks for posting. Is there anyway the unit can play DVD and be hooked up to the factory overhead screen so passengers in the back can watch as well? Also how is the volume, is it louder and better sounding than the factory unit?
yes, it can hook up to the factory rear monitor. it has wiring harness that plugs into all that. I have rear audio controls and they still work. the sound it great. definitely better than factory, it is louder with more options for adjustment.
Thanks for the video. I am also interested in the unit (Enclave). Do the sounds (chimes, turn signals, etc) play through the car speakers, or does it use external speaker? How about the onstar or factory bluetooth - does it retain the functionality?
it uses a smaller external speaker for the sounds, I mounted mine under the radio in the dash, you really can't tell the difference. on star appears to work as well, when the button is pressed the logo comes up on the screen. steering wheel control work as well.
Hi buddy, I also got the ELM327 for OBD2. I tried to use it for the 1st time but when I plugged it in my vehicle won't start. So I removed it and started the engine then all errors on the dash board started coming out and then the "check engine light" came out too. So I immediately turned the engine off and waited for like 10 mins then started the engine again, fortunately everything came back to normal. I'm afraid to plug the ELM327 again without really knowing how should I do it. Did you experience the same thing at first?
wow, that's not good. that didn't happen to me, but I never got the elm scanner to work, I got it cheap off ebay and it was defective as I've tried it in other cars and it still won't work. I found that it's common among some of the dirt cheap ones, mine was 8 bucks shipped. so I would say yours might be defective as well.
+ccsurep I got the ELM OBD2 at around same price and was found to be defective as well. Everything works fine. Radio reception is a bit weak so I bought a signal booster which will be coming in next week.
A very nice video, could you please tell me where to find your installation video? For your back monitor did you use a HDMI connection from your head unit?
Harold Robinson no I didn't use hdmi.. just regular rca plugs and wires. I haven't done a video for the roof mounted monitor.. but there are a lot already on y outube.
I think it’s a 7” screen. The unit was made to fit gym vehicle with the Lamda platform like Acadia, enclave, outlook years 2007 to 2013 I think. The wiring harness was plug and play connectors only fit one way
the weather on my unit appears to work, I get the temperature all the time. weather works when Internet connected. the doors thing was already in the unit. I believe it has something to do with the canbus. it was a stock option for outlooks that came equipped with oem navigation screen.
did you have to reprogram from your original radio or did the unit power up on install immediately? My reason for asking is that I got a unit from Pumpkin that after install I didn't get it to power on and I got all kinds of weird loss of park assist and no power to the unit at all. Any thoughts? the unit looks exactly the same as the one you've installed. My car is the XE model if that makes a difference
no I just plugged in all the harnesses. make sure you have all three main harnesses plugged in, even if your stock radio used only 2. check all your wiring make sure everything is nice and tight.
i have 07 Outlook, looking for same upgrade. browsed ebay and there are tons of similar items. may i ask what particular brand did you buy. at least if I buy the exact one u did i'll be sure it will work. thanks in advance.
+ccsurep Btw, did you have to buy extra cables/adapters to match the wrings and did it come with the rear camera? how about maps for GPS are US, Canada built in?
+the kablamster comes with all cables, maps it uses igo, but I never got that app to work correctly. so I just use Google maps for nav. seller sent me updated software for igo, but I just haven't used it. but yes it has the map card.
MusicPassion001 that's the head unit that they "upgraded" to starting in 2013 I believe. does your current one have an lcd screen.. and let you connect ur phone to it?
Thanks for this video. I have been in between installing the pioneer deck, a tablet or an android headunit. I see they are advertising this unit as 7'' capacitive screen. I am hoping to get 7-8'' for a screen. Can you please verify if the screen size is 7''? Thanks in advance.
+ccsurep Thanks man, I'm super excited to get mine. I like the buttons on the side too! I been using a tablet just mounted so this will be an obvious upgrade!! Have you tried the Auto Mate software for android? It mimics the Android Auto. Great app it's in beta but it looks amazing. I'll post a link if you don't have it. plus.google.com/communities/102908788212710276577
Joey Ashcraft no, not at all. it's pretty much just 3 wires. the camera output (rca) cable. and then a pos/negative to power on the camera. I tapped into the reverse lights circuit.
Okay on my Outlook I didn't notice three plugs for wiring but will check, thanks for the feedback and the video, only one I've seen for the Outlook

What was the size of the screen on the new double din you installed? Also what wiring kit did you use?
All wires came with unit, it just plugs into the factory wire connectors.

will this work for a 2012 GMC Acadia? I see a lot of resellers of these decks only up to 2011 but it's virtually identical to the 2012??
Matt Davis this should work fine.

is there a link to this radio somewhere? i just got an 08 Outlook and i used it to drive from Dallas to DC and back, i now love this car!

Do the steering wheel control work for everyone else?
wat size is ur screen and wat plug in play did u use

I have 2009 Saturn Vue and wanted to ask you if you are still able to use XM and Onstar? Thank You, Felicia.
xm radio you can use from the app, while online. onstar comes up on the screen when the button is pushed. but I no longer have the service.
It is typical for a rear view camera not to automatically come on?

Hey buddy, it's me again. Does your unit play dvd/tv only when vehicle is parked? Or where you able to bypass it? How did you do it? Thanks
it can play movies, RUclips Netflix or anything while driving. no bypass needed. only time it will cut out video is when in reverse, for camera.
A very nice video, could you please tell me where to find your installation video?

I have the one for camry android 4.4 . The weather is not working and how did u program that door opening on the device ?
the weather on my unit appears to work, I get the temperature all the time. weather works when Internet connected. the doors thing was already in the unit. I believe it has something to do with the canbus. it was a stock option for outlooks that came equipped with oem navigation screen.
Love this
is this the GA5180f? just got one, but they lack install instructions
SALTY DAWG yeah..it wierd but the instructions are on the unit itself. but you have to have it installed so you can power it on and read it.

Do you need WiFi in order to use xm radio on the unit?
Andrew Dover yeah you would need a wifi hotspot.
its already installed... this is not "installation", nice video though. What is the size of the radio?
Install was simple... so i only talked about it. Radio is same size as factory. At least 4" x7" if that helps.
Will this fit in a saturn vue 2006?
it looks like it should, as they appear to use the same factory radio.
İn your car Bose sistem?
Hey! What's the link to buy this off eBay?
FourBeatShufflin I bought the last one on eBay pre-owned was the only one on there
PS:WASE is a much better navigation app
don't everybody Tage the world
How about the factory bluetooth?
yes, this has its own bluetooth as well. All factory functions appear to work. even the rear stereo controls work.
where can I buy one
