What about having these plants with freshwater angelfish? And i planted some in two separate bunches in floramax substrate. Is that ok? And im using seachem flourish excel instead of injected co2, is that ok as well?
So I bought a carpet of these. And the root system just looks like a tanglement of Brusselsprouts. Is that the root system or is that runners? Other than that, I don't see anything else that could be roots. Never been so confused on how to plant something
Hello Jacob! I really hope you read and answer this question! I bought pygmy chain sword but my goldfish keep uprooting it-is there anything I can do to prevent this?
JacobsAquarium Where did you get those hose holder suction cups in your tanks? I have a Sera Flora reactor and 5/8 ID tubing and can't find a suction cup with a plastic holder to hold it in place.
i pulled some out of a low tech tank and threw it in an old betta cup on my dresser 2 months ago...its still growing in there. On the contrary i also the misfortune when taking out of a hightexh to a low tech that it went down hill. i wonder if it just has difficulty acclimationg to environmental differences?
As always love the video! I have GBR's, GGR's, and Guppies will the rams destroy it?One thing I would like to see is a review of a red plant. Also what is the status of your patio aquarium/holding tank?
i got a tiny cup, very small, tiny bunch of this at petco... it was growing submerged... natural tank they only dosed iron... i bought a bag of eco complete and covered gravel that is covered in nutrients (from the fish) then i broke the small bushel up and spread it out kind of close to each other... it's been 2 weeks it's not doing anyting really that i can notice. it seems like it is doing slightly worse, wich i know is to be expected of a new plant in a new environment but it seems like its melting a tiny bit... couple pieces of the grass have fallen off but overall i think its just getting used to being in my tank... i do not dose CO2 i put flourish excel in the tank a couple times but i have also put flourish tabs in the substrate around them... i was worried that there wasn't enough nutrients in the tank at first but now im not at all worried about that im actually betting i could grow dwarf baby tears without co2 because of all the nutrients in my tank atm... so should i just wait it out and see what happens? they dont seem to be growing and they also dont seem to be dying. i have lots and lots of light. actually i bought a led shop light from walmart and hung it over my tank by about 8" specific light is hyper tough shop light 48" and its over 55 gallon
before anyone says ths light is not strong enough or will not reach through the water... the entire spartan army could not stop this light...it may actually be too much
Jacob said they're primarily root feeders, but i imagine only liquid ferts COULD work. you'd need fish poo or a decent substrate like eco-complete. disclaimer: i have no experiene with this plant.
@JacobsAquarium Thanks, but I mean since its runners, do you clip them to separate and then plant the roots or do you try to keep it totally in tact sort of like 'unrolling it' and planting the roots?
+SPhoenix77 You're overcomplicating the whole process. If you plant one portion of Microsword into your substrate, all you need to do is tear some off the original carpet and plant it again and that will continue to grow. There isn't a science to this, its very simple.
Respectfully, a lot of information that was very useful and I appreciate that it but could have been condensed into about 5-7 minutes. Keep up the vids
This video is 4 years old, I have since come a long way. I think any feedback on this video is sort of pointless because its nothing I can change now and I've progressed a lot since filming this 4 years ago....Thanks for watching.

Sick.. I never thought of carpeting Micro sword... Great vid :D
this plant perfect for shrimp grows fast, they eat it and get better color, they use it to hide ... this is a must have
Lmfao
Great video! Hope you get some flame moss in your store soon
Nice advice! I love these plants with black or white sand and some scattered round stones in a 2.5, and so does my betta haha
Do you just let it float for a few weeks while it transitions into being submerged? Thanks!
I want to know this as well
That's my favorite dwarf aquatic plant
What if i use seachem flourish excel? Because i have microswords in my 55 gallon tank and i dose it with seachem flourish, iron, and api root tabs.
Can excel compensate for the lack of CO2?
I love micro sword
could you do one on amazon sword or jungle val
Thank you for these informative videos. I appreciate the pricing you have. I can buy 3-4 of what you have verses one elsewhere with what you charge.

Just ordered some from you. So excited.
Thank you!
Awesome. Thanks.

Can you put this plant with Male Betta?
do you think this would do okay in fluval shrimp and plant stratum?
Baron Fawkes yeah as long as you have decent lighting

Looking for some dwarf sag. Do u know when u will have some?
My microsword completely melted but grew a bunch of runners so I didnt even know it melted and I barely found out which is why I looked this up lol.

Darren Becker, GBR is no problem, I have 3 and my Chinese algae eater does all of the damage.

How is your Micro Sword doing now?
So do they need root tabs or can I just dose liquid

thank you this is very helpful. Very too the point, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
can they grow in gravel
OMG! That was my mistake! I propagated it before I planted it made it unhappy for ages!!!
Nice plant! I like how are your video is playing in the background!
Yay
Hey I was wandering if you could send me some stuff in Canada... Thanks
Are ram cichlids compatable
Wobbe gong, I've got 3 and they love it.
How do you plant it, tho?... That's the question...
+SPhoenix77 Pretty simple. You push it down into the substrate. Pretty typical with most plants.....
@JacobsAquarium Thanks, but I mean since its runners, do you clip them to separate and then plant the roots or do you try to keep it totally in tact sort of like 'unrolling it' and planting the roots?

Well there is a science, it's called botany. That's somewhat insulting.
