  • Why is Amy Jackson a Tamil Actress???
As a tamil girl, I've grown up watching tamil movies and it wasn't until recently that I realized there are a few things that are wrong with them. One of which is the fact that almost all of the actress es are light skinned and not tamil. I specifically had the question of why Amy Jackson is a Tamil actress. Amy Jackson has played the role of tamil girls in quite a few films now but is that really okay? Shouldn't a tamil actress actually be tamil the same way most tamil actors are actually tamil? In this video we talk about the colourism in tamil media. Why is Amy Jackson playing the role of a tamil girl? Why can't directors actually cast dark skinned tamil girls to play those roles? Why is India still so colourist even though it's been so long since colonisation? We take a look back at the history of India to see the root causes of all of these problems and talk about the effects of the lack of representation on young Indian girls.
Like, subscribe, and share this video with others who you think would enjoy it.
See you next time on a random Sunday at 12.
    Thanks for watching!

Why is Amy Jackson a Tamil Actress and Why is Amy Jackson in kollywood???, but Why is Amy Jackson in bollywood??? there is so much colourism in tamil media, and colorism in India, why can't dark skinned Indian women get married, Amy Jackson, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samantha, are tamil actresses, in tamil cinema, kollywood, India

As a Tamil guy from Tamilnadu, I myself have had a lot of bad experiences and faced discriminations about being black. I try to forget my whole child hood which is filled with the imitations of my classmates and others make from recent or popular movie comedies ( which they think is funny) and other kinds of bullying. Most people never understand the impact of these types of acts. They are just casual about it.
Infact I never like to revisit my child hood even in my memories. I was the scape goat or go to person for my whole class and to the bullies in my school days. Whenever they feel bored they will pass some hateful/hurtful comments about me.
While I am still carrying the impact of those trauma after 3/4 years. Most of those bullies wouldn't even be aware of me or their hurtful actions and words towards me. 😠😡😤😭😭😢😢
I became anti social and I isolated myself everywhere I go, because of my insecurity about 'what others will say about me' mindset. Now I am fine (but still introverted) and out of these stupid mindset and am not insecure anymore about my looks or colour.
I am sorry for such a long comment but I have never expressed all these things to anyone neither do I have the courage to say it to anyone. so I just let all the years of my trauma in this comment because I am anonymous here.

      @@sreesree8794 I am 21 now. I can feel you 😌
If you are from India , probably you being a girl will face even more discrimination based on skin colour right. Because that’s how even women themselves are programmed to behave and think of fair skin being desirable in our patriarchal society. I being a stranger don’t know how much you have gone through, but more power to you👍. Be strong, if you’re still young and in school, it might mean everything to you. But believe me after certain age , once you get into college or find a job, these noises and comments about your skin colour will reduce. Just bear through tough school days. It will get better. At least us (this generation people) should stand against such discrimination and not propagate this to our next generation that not to discriminate anybody based on their looks, appearances, colour, background, language, body weight, ideology they believe, etc
Colourism is just one of many discriminations of our society. Our society has set standards for everything, hair should be black, skin should be white, height should be 6ft, weight should be …….. etc it’s an endless 🔁 loop of unattainable expectations. These discrimination sometimes get even uglier into religion, caste 😒
Even elder women I have seen commenting bad on brides skin colour behind their back on multiple occasions of weddings. These are women who have been turned blind eye to society’s stereotypes. What else can we do than to ignore such comments?
Stay strong girl, all I can say is believe in yourself that you are powerful enough and can overcome this. There’s nothing wrong with you at all. Just ignore and go ahead with your real priorities in life. On much larger scale of your life hopefully it won’t mean much that who said what about your skin colour. You will find your true value only when you believe in yourself 💪
Do something great in whatever you like, so that people have a lot to say or talk about you than just colour of your skin. Let’s just do our part in educating people closer to us , and hope for a good society in future without any discrimination.✌️
Let’s be a better human by not discriminating anyone based on anything. Have a nice day and a future too

Amazingly explained. The colorism also has to do with casteism apart from colonisation... in general, lower you are on the caste ladder, darker your skin. British are not responsible for everything related to colorism. Indian people themselves wanted to emphasise their social standing by associating it with their color, which indirectly tells they are from a higher caste.

I have to say that the root cause of this is self betrayal. We have betrayed ourselves to idolize and exalt others above ourselves. If we knew our own true worth, our true divine worth in God, we would never have fallen so low. We have forgotten who we really are and all this evidence (of self betrayal/hatred) around us should push us to remember our true Self
