One of my favorite Metallica songs until my Father committed suicide in 2015. The words are too painful to hear. This allowed me to enjoy this beautiful piece of music once again, though with tears in my eyes. Very well done and thank you for sharing this. R.I.P. Dad. And thank you for buying my first guitar.
What irresponsibility!! My one did almost the same when I was 14. It was so deep hole my soul felt. But now I’m at his age and I can understand that he was thinking mostly of himself than of his family. Hold on bro
So sorry for your lose. My father passed in 2019... the words you've spoken were taken right from my mouth. He bought me my first guitar and taught me classical. RIP to your father 🙏🏻
I'm 30 years old and I've been a metalhead since my older brothers have blasted metal since I was 5 old working on trucks, quads and sleds. This brought a tear to my eye - very well done.
I wonder if metallica realizes the size of what they achieved in the history not of only music but humankind ... Their music has crossed frontiers between genres, styles and has inspired all kinds of musicians to be better Amazing what they gave us in the past so greatful for their music but even more greatful and more amazing is, the huge amount of incredible bands that they inspired to start.... Thnks metallica and Thanks Thomas Zwijsen and Violinist what an amazing cover !!
Quite the statement. I like Metallica, but for a band that's been around less than 40 years it's more than a little presumptuous to make such a statement don't you think? In 100 years will anyone remember who Metallica was? In 200 years? In 500 years? Remember, the vast majority of the musicians humankind has ever had are long dead and long forgotten.
I have been a Metallica fan since I was 14, now I am 44 and must confess that you've done an excellent job by playing such a hard to play masterpiece which is Fade to Black! Congrats on that!!!
It was really good, but I´m not sure if it was flawless. Please if you can, listen since minute 1:25 to 1:31 and tell me. Maybe it is just my perception, but I can not stop thinking about it. Regards.
Отличительная особенность гениальной музыкальной композиции в том, что она простая, сильная и красивая и одинаково великолепно слушается и в акустике и в оркестровке. Это про "Fade to blak"
Super compositie! Proficiat! Geweldige performance! Gratuluje! Bardzo dobrze zagrane! Pozdrawiamy z Holandii, Polski i Białorusi. De groeten uit Nederland, Polen en Wit-Rusland.
The violin also adds more to the solemnity and drama I was in awe and gasped with astonishment when the solo begun and captured the true meaning and essence of the song. Great job to you both. Appreciate this so much🤘😍👏 EDIT: it actually sounds more amazing on a headset
Wow is all I can say! What a creative and extremely well performed cover. I was interested in how you’d handle the bridge at 3:33, and my jaw dropped. I can barely manage that deceptively straight forward piece on an electric guitar. Hats off to you both. Please keep these coming!
A G_ yeah sorry guys, i’m just a guitar player. Dont know anything about the violins. Thanks!! Its amazing how such a small instrument can play so many notes. Thats intereresting.
Huh!! Fantastic, Thomas - as always!! But to tell the truth, the end, the beautiful Lady with the Violin has stolen the show! I am absolutely speechless.
I wonder if any of the guys in Metallica have ever seen this! They were both very good, she spent alot of time learning that note for note on a violin! Very dedicated! Great job ! Now im going to watch it again
All hail Metallica! I am impressed and amazed with so many different people waking up to the genius of Metallica. Metal will unite us all. Across ages and genres, countries and hopefully even galaxies. Thats what all the UFo sightings are about. Bastards are downloading Metallica albums. Well done folks. Metal head approved!

Freakin amazing best cover of fade 2 black really enjoy the solo at the end
Hope you release 'Nylon-nica' soon 🎶🎸
AWESOME!
wow that violin solo at the end!!!!
Amaaazing
I wanna start playing violin now
Nailed it note for note.
I’m a not-quite-50 year old guy who dabbles with guitar - been playing that solo (badly!) since the ‘80s ...
Hey Thomas, your girl steel the show :P :D ;)
lol.....you just want her

Almost to the date 35 years ago that this song was released. A beautiful tribute.
Wow!
One of the best Metallica tracks amazing
You mean 40
@@hectortorres8188 No. 40 years would make 1980. Metallica wasn't even formed then.
@@RoaldKoger it was released in 1984, it's 2020. It's more than 35 years old, not "almost"
There is a lot of trash on RUclips. And then, every now and then, you come across a gem like this. Beautiful.
Who can dislike this? This was done so well that it can be a soundtrack to a movie
maybe they just hate the way he hold the dog
wow!
It amazes me hearing this to know that a band of rough kids wrote this in their early 20’s.
proof that metal is the closest genre to classical music
Indeed...
Cliff Burton skills in composition produced the best Metallica harmonies
Well, to be fair, they didn't write "this." They wrote the kernel from which this is extrapolated.
@@bragee , he was classically trained
RIP Cliff
A great song is a great song, no matter what style it's played in. What a beautiful interpretation !
The solo already sounds beautiful on guitar. It sounds so much graceful and beautiful on violin

Don’t say that too loud because if Lars gets wind he’ll demand his share of this RUclips channel’s profits
This rendition beautifully highlights the Ennio Morricone influence present in Metallica's work. Awesome stuff!!
The solo was absolutely perfect
This slaps so hard i just love the violin + acoustic guitar combo playing metal covers
The dogs are just chilling and enjoying. Amazing!
That unforgiven moment in the beginning was real smooth
Wow, this worked out so well. It's almost like this song was made for the violin.
This was incredible!! Thanks for commenting!
У вас тоже очень круто получилось с этой песней!!!🤟🏻👍🏻🖤
Excellent!!!!!....Metallica would be proud....along with this metal head fan!!!...good job!👊
That's a pitty I can't put LIKE every time I watch it. I's so amazing. Talented people with good taste for music. Congrats.
I've always maintained that outro solo is the best guitar solo I've heard. Absolutely awesome 👌

Stunning rendition, soulful and haunting. Bravo.
I've watching it a bunch in a row
What a wonderful violin solo, I will ask to play it at my wedding.
So beautiful I could listen to this all day...
True sign of a great song. When you can play it on any instrument and it still sounds great props guys.
This cover gave me goosebumps. Round of applause for such a great job.
Playing these solos on a guitar itself is hard enough, but to do that on a violin. Great skills !
My favorite Metallica song!' Played by my favorite guitar player!
My favorite Metallica song. The strings of my heart have been pulled.

Spectacular. A classical heavy metal song on a very particular way 👏👏
Thx for playing it live @Mannheim 2024. 😊 The single fan was indeed in the audience. 🤗 Maybe the dogs and the sound with you! ✌😏

14歳の時、Metallicaの2ndアルバムがリリースされ、輸入盤屋まで買いに行った。
その中でもこの曲が一番好きです。
見事に再現されてて感動しました。途中のラテンテイストなアレンジも面白いですね!!
I'll listen to that solo a hundred times more and I think it'll bring me to tears every time!! What an incredible cover!
Cliff Burton listened to this and smile, with joy or malice ;-) absolutely wonderful piece
The violin part at 1:02 sounds like The Unforgiven.
The acoustic guitar chord is same.....when you play it in strumming pattern the chord is Am C G Em
I think they both use some alternating E Majors in there too.
Parts of The unforgiven were inspired by Fade to Black..
Sure was. Nice catch. True Metallica fan. Lol👍
Definitely was
Showing a real classic taste under the original song.

Omg violin solo is amazing.
Gyönyörű feldolgozása a Dalnak ! PROFI előadás !!! KÖSZÖNJÜK !!! 🤘🙂👍
Violin .. respect
Never thought such a small violin has so many frets and you can actually play a metallica solo in it...strange and lovely at the same time.
Frets on violoin? are you serious? :D D::D it has endless amount of "frets" its fretless
