Cool with 80’s movie music vibes! Be cool for Mel to deep dive and talk about the synths and setting them up 😊 Also get Mel to talk making art digitally 😊
YES. I love Mel and this is fucking brilliant. This is worth the time and the editing. Amazing few moments to sit and jam with Mel. Make it Monthly with Mel please!!!!!! 🙏🏻
Also… I watch sooooo many synth vids and tuts… I love that this is uncut and people understand how much experimentation goes into to the truly live track… You’re there for the journey not the LP.
+1 here! This was really enjoyable, & did an unexpectedly fantastic job occupying my ADHD brain while assembling fiddly little things, especially with the thought process commentary. Unlike OP I've never watched a synth video before, so it was fun seeing what some of the twiddly buttons do. Also fun nostalgia, reminded me of being a kid playing with the looping functions on my dad's keyboard (except Mel is actually good, which is more than you could say for me or my dad! 😂 ) I'd love this as a regular series, maybe even in a longer format if they'd be up for it 🙂 (think of all the new toys you could call business expenses...)
Having had the pleasure of knowing Mel IRL, it's remarkable how identical they are on RUclips. Most folks make up a persona when they do the RUclips thing, and it's a little bit them, a little bit who they aspire to be, a lot of them trying hard to be what they think the audience wants. But Mel is Mel.
Like the branching out. Great intro to the elektrons for the tested fans. I have the digitakt and it’s not very intuitive but will go down as a classic electronic music must have.
Awesome music, and fascinating to see Mel's synth jam process. I really enjoyed seeing their combination of mastery of tools and working in the flow-state.
this was awesome! i know clint from LGR does this as well. I wonder if you guys can get clint on the channel to have some fun with mel. that would be cool!
The best part (in my opinion) is around 4:25. Look at Mel's face: there's not so much thinking or considering as simply...feeling. What feels right here? Don't touch anything, just listen, enjoy. That's how music should be (again, in my opinion) - a feeling, not a calculation.
I would check out the Digitone 2 before the Digitakt (1 or 2), it's synth based rather than sample based as the Digitakt is. It's way more flexible on its own (in my opinion of course, being more a synth person than a sample person). ;)

Super cringe and no one cares
Genuine.
The first few minutes reminded me of Blood Rave from the Blade soundtrack. Awesome stuff Mel.
Nothing better than seeing creatives in create mode. Thanks for sharing Mel!

This was an enjoyable watch. Definitely need more of Mel’s DJ sets.
That. Was. AWESOME ! I think I'll be listening to this again, and improv' with you with my bass :)
3:36 getting OG MK movie vibes.

Behind it is a strong music theory background.
Loved this. Super fun video.

Wow, you play so well, Mel! Happy New Year! :)
The music at the 10min mark has a warhammer vibe
luv, luv, luv....
I've been watching a lot of videos on the Digitakt lately. May eventually give in and buy one.

❤️🔥MEL❤️🔥
😊
3:23 😂
I can only mentally process using about 3-4 buttons so this is about 20x more than I can understand..
Playing with tech! Not music!
