Good to see another North West trike vid from you Gary. Where did you get your ICE from, direct from ICE, a dealer or 2nd hand? Surprised there are no dealers in the NW seeing it's such a bikey area.
Ian Wilkinson hi Ian got the trike new from a dealer but my mate who I ride out with has bought just as new of eBay well worth keeping an eye out on there if your local to Bolton we could ride out sometime hopefully me and bestie will be triking around Scotland and Wales this summer.
No helmet. If you are not doing downhill mountain biking, a helmet only is a nuisance that provides false sense of safety. Especially on a recumbent it makes no sense at all.
Hi Dig. Yes we are hitting 40mph on the hills when ever we can and to be honest what ever brains I have left after 54 years on this planet I’d like to keep them in an helmet 👍
If you think that a form cast piece of coated Styrofoam is going to do you any good at all when hitting anything at that speed, then you have just successfully demonstrated the false sense of safety bike helmets generally generate. In case of a collision, these helmets are about as effective as balloons and they have only been demonstrated to be marginally effective in a very narrow range of up-rite biking accidents at far lower speeds. Basically being flung over your steering-wheel under 20KpH is the only scenario where you could land in such a way where these overpriced molded pieces of packing material could perhaps minimize the damage. In all other cases, the injury will most likely be joints, shoulders and hips, and of course back and neck. On a recumbent trike I'd imagine that shoulders and hips are less likely as you can't fall on your side easily or from high up, but back and neck are just as vulnerable at the same impact speeds (much lower than 40mph). Bike helmets really generally do not increase safety, they just increase helmet sales. You are mistaking a piece of airy plastic for a bike suit, motor helmet and neck brace. ( Not that I am suggesting to wear that.. just be sensible and you'll survive! )
LOL GOOD VIDEO

nice first ride out but did you catch him up !!lol
Can I ask where you got your yellow flags from and what size are your poles.
Paul Hill hi Paul. The flags are off eBay around £5. And I think the fibreglass poles are 8 mm in diameter and at least 5ft tall
Have you a link on ebay for the flag.

Hmmm 🤔 do you have a flag on your recumbent?
That mike on the camera picks out ya wheezing 😐
🐜
Anthony connolly I know it’s right under my chin going to have to put some kind of a muffler on it or grow a beard 🤔
Ditch those helmets if you can.. those are worthless.
Diggnuts interesting comment what would you recommend
