The abridged version of my notes.
      *How to Look Your Best*
      3:40
-Don't be stiff, move a little. Don't rush. Wear clothes consistent with your message.
*Framing a Message for a Media Interview*
      18:36
-Craft 3 messages before an interview, no longer than 10 words each. To be effective each messages content needs to pertain to your interests, the interviews interests, and the audience of their media outlets interests. Each message must also be able to stand alone.
      *Answering Questions*
      27:00
-Don't just ignore the question, rewrite the question in your head to make it easier on you. Answer the question that takes you back to your messages fastest. Reiterate your messages.
      *Sound Bites*
      40:08
Sound bites are perspective on the facts. Reporters like quoting attacks, absolutes, and humor. Also what's bold and emotional, as well as Retorical Questions, and what makes ideas more relatable and understandable.

I'm wondering if you can do one for musicians and up and coming musicians, you know the interviews you can find of super stars when they were local, that would be cool. serious inquiry, when I do my first interview I'll have u to thank! 😀

I am in one of your online training programs, and I am impressed with the comprehensive, and succinct, nature of your training. You seem to know it all, and also are quite organized in presenting the information in a logical manner. Though perhaps not "PC", I know speaking is different for men and women, because I have found that response to me being "firm" reads as being "mean", whereas in a man he would come across as intense or forceful. Can you give gender specific tips? Thanks!

this is sooo helpful even years later as a musical artist what should my 3 points be? obviously 1 would be promoting my album but I don't know what the rest would be

I can't tell you what your 3 points should be, but I now if you try to communicate more than that, you aren't likely to be successful. I do consult with musicians from time to time on messaging and media skills. If you think this m ight be helpful, then please schedule a call. calendly.com/mtwtraining/15?month=2023-08

I’m watching this after the Fox News interview with the anti-work Reddit moderator. The interviewee was wearing a black sweatshirt that blended with the chair they were sitting on, avoided eye contact with the camera like it was the plague, looked overall evasive.
    It’s an interesting case study.

THINKING ABOUT DOING VIDEOS FOR RUclips. DO YOU DO ANY TRAINING FOR THAT?

    • @ThomasJordanTV
      @ThomasJordanTV 5 лет назад +3

Just start! Do your best and make 3 videos. Then go back and make a list of what you did well and what you need to work on. Whether it's on camera confidence, shooting video, editing, or all of the above. Take one thing at a time :) I hope this helps!

I am media trained to talk to other people, but not media trained for a camera and I don’t do interviews. I can choose to not follow media training if I want because I can do whatever I want.
