It's worth noting that Viktor Vaughn is portrayed as a young version of DOOM (or at least younger than DOOM). Witch leads to this insane moments like Viktor's girl cheating on him with DOOM in Fancy Clown from Madvillainy.
ianosssssss that fucking song fancy clown is a sonic orgasm
"you been tipping around uptown running with a fancy clown..."
@@darelljackson4132 "wooing some fancy clown" **
I think Victor Vaughn is a time traveler so yeah it must be weird for your girl to cheat with an older version of you in another timeline
Lmao MF DOOM was too good, he had to make a distrack on himself
That Kardashian line is actually talking about cardassians from Star Trek. It threw me off too:)
XXXPLANTACION _ I rather believe that DOOM can see the future
You learn something new everyday
Definitely, considering the verse before and following it.. " brought the chick from sick bay. Ensign, he shoulda asked his upperclassmen before he bust blast em, never trust no Cardassians. Captains log supplemental, the klingons are now aboard the enterprise rental vessel. On my cue photon torpedo"
Oooohhhhhh......
Ohhhhhhhhh
DOOM is the most commercially underrated hip-hop artist.
Doom chose to be underground, he doesn't want to be commercially successful
nailed it
Nah. He is not underrated by any means. In fact more people would argue that he's overrated. I don't think anybody has slept on Madvillainy, MM...FOOD or Mouse and the Mask.
niggas on the moon I think you shouldn't say it like that.
He ain't overrated, he has the correct attention.
I'm gonna disagree and say Aesop is
If you really grew up on adult swim listen to DangerDoom.
that doesnt mean anything lmao
lmao
It is probably not the best DOOM project but it's high up on my favourite list
I never did but that project is soooo good. Also it got me into some adult swim shows
Good somebody else is saying it too!
i almost want to put doom as the greatest rapper of all time
mad king do.
What's stopping you? Andre 3000? Lupe? Black Thought? Redman?

This album was DOOM at his lyrical peak imo
Milo Hempel 2003 to 2005 was legendary for DOOM
no doubt, better lyricism than even in MADVILLAINY but still a great album
Alex Macdon Born Like This is lyrical af as well.
He goes absolutely bONKERS on this album

Shawn's DOOM videos are his best ones tbh
Nils Bellarts yhea there's not much to analyze in a DJ khaled project
Cristobal Duran hahaha , so true
Shawn should react to JJ DOOM’s Key To The Kuffs.
"Don't trust those Cardassians" is the play he was going for, talking about the race in Star Trek. Also speaks about Klingons and Enterprise in the same lines
RIP Daniel. One of the greatest to ever touch the mic.
Buddy called him Daniel
@@dappunk1 that’s his name but lmao
@@vengefvll2608 respect the name DOOM made
@@gizmostop It doesn't fucking matter, there's literally no disrespect in calling someone by their name
@@sircartier4422 you do you I guess, but I don't see the logic. Everyone here obviously cares about doom and his music. No matter the name, the feelings are equal. No one except for you sees it as an issue, so its just making an issue out of a problem that isn't there
Listening to DOOM is like repeatedly getting the air knocked out of you. He hits you with something like "Got more soul than a sock with a hole" and then immediately afterwards hits you with something like "I'm only here to save the game like a memory card".
BIG L - LIFESTYLE OV DA POOR & DANGEROUS PLLLLLLLZZZZZ BRUHHHHHHHHHHH

do king geedorah next!
AJ fr can't wait to see him listen to Take Me To Your Leader
AJ just remember to keep your fazers on stun!
prospekt46 trust me
He wouldn't be able to handle Krazy World
Please do this, Born Like This or Venomous Villain
DOOM is simply the best hip hop has to offer. From the beats to the lyrics. Madvillainy, Vaudeville Villain, Doomsday, and MM..Food are all absolute classics. I cant even rank them, they are all the best.
gza liquid swords bro
Yes
Got moist when I seen this in my sub box.... by far my favorite DOOM project.
I'm more of a Madvilliany person
Carlos H most are
Madvillainy and dangerDOOM are my favorites
@@carlosh2050 mm food for me
You gotta do the mouse and the mask, next. Agreed, anyone?
Amari Williams not before take me to your leader
Amari Williams THANK YOU
Um yes
Common - Be
Mos Def - Black on Both Sides
Don96 I really hope he reacts to black on both sides
Chris Flonoury wrote my college essay on that album
Arnaud Vittin how awesome is that? Maybe one day I can write about Liquid Swords or something.
Common- Be is one of my favorite albums of all time.
The moment when you realize the same girl in Can I Watch? is the same MC in Guinness from Mmmm...Food. so it's almost a continuation when you hear the intro of the track. Mind Blown!
That moment was now my friend. Mad
DELTRON 3030 NEXT!
Jon Lax yes
Looking forward to that, hope he'll do it soon.
And both sides of the brain
Mouse and the Mask should def be up next since they just released a new version
Such a good record
It's Cardassian (reference to Star Trek), not Kardashian.
ben But it could go in any direction, that's why he's timeless...
“Captains log supplemental, the clingons are now abourd the enterprise rental vessel , on my que photon torpedo!” All Star Trek references
When I was younger and my English comprehension was really bad I always take the time to see the lyrics on internet because I don’t understand most of the time ! It’s because I see the lyrics and listen the music that I can a little bit speak/write and understand naturally ppl when they talk/rap ! DOOM is on another level with is rhymes lol a human mixed with a dictionary and a villain attitude made DOOM
King Geedorah - Take me to your Leader
Jody GB I second this.
How about Born Like This? Gazillion Ear alone is worth the album.
madatz That's That as well.
Pretty much all of his tracks are great.
madatz Absolutely is amazing
Cellz as well
Duuuude! Cellz!
react to the unseen by quasimoto, you will rlly like it, a great madlib project
Ben Hughes madlib is just amazing in general
@FRED SMARTSTONE the problem with further adventures is the copyright claims, I can't event find my favourite tracks on yt anymore
Viktor Vaughn is based on the same villain MF DOOM is based on, Dr. Victor Von Doom.
Garden Gnome is is MF DOOM viktor?
Viktor is the younger version of MF DOOM and DOOM's alter ego. His parents both died but he a grew up to be a well-respected scientist. He got an offer to go to Empire State University because the dean was impressed by his exploits but while at the university he was working on a machine to communicate with the dead (most likely so he can talk to his parents). Reed Richards, a fellow student that Victor disliked, tried to warn Victor about a flaw in his experiment, but Victor continued to work with it anyways until the machine exploded causing damage to Victor's face. After that Victor made himself a suit of armor and a mask and then adopted the name Dr. Doom (who in this case is MF DOOM). He now goes on to torment those that he thinks is responsible for his accident.
Garden Gnome I’m crying writing this, how did you find this out? I would love to read about it
@@Luiserck This is the backstory of Dr. Victor von Doom. The main villain of the Fantastic Four
@@gardengnome4105 That backstory makes sense, however Fancy Clown makes it seem like Viktor Vaughn and MF DOOM exist at the same time and Viktor Vaughn aspires to be him. He's aspiring to be MF DOOM basically.
You have to listen ''Take Me To Your Leader'', a amazing MF DOOM album.
I love how DOOM connected his songs. "The only thing he ever said was the roach is never dead," vaudeville villain, 2003/4. "In effect like alternate side of the street parking rules. Fools, the roach is never dead! Live for a week and dehydrate with a severed head, instead!" Gazillion Ear, 2009.
"cat wit a dead mouse is how he catch it pause (paws) and plays wit it, kill it and eat off fa days kitten."
Lickupon is catchy tho
- realglittergyal my fav on the album
He really sampled the L train on that track, I’ll never get that sound outta my head
There's gotta be a mashup of B.I.G.'s "Warning" with this insrrumental on the Internet somewhere
Next MF DOOM album gotta be Born Like This. really enjoyed the review
jlcarterjr89 He's gonna lose his mind in 'That's that' 🔥
Robin N and Cellz and Absolutely and Batty Boys
I say he won't make it past Absolutely without killing himself like 5 times lmao. 😂
AYYY MY NIGGA DO BORN LIKE THIS THAT SHIT IS HELLA UNDERRATED
Also Kardashians means Cardassians, from Star Trek
KORRUPTION The beats on there isn't that great but it's lyrically dope
yes they are, the beats are phenomenal
Born like this
A Modern Day Mugging sound is from Metroid...
yeah, I can't even handle it.
YESSS, thank you, I knew I heard it
what Metroid game did it come from
How we miss that transition from overture to vaudeville villain
You almost pretty much hit the nail on the head. After his dealing with the industry, he became the arch enemy of mainstream rap at that time. This album contains acutal excerpts from open mics he did when he left his label and moved to ATL to rebuild.
You should do Immortal Technique Revolution Vol. 1 for next reaction
Connor Geurts internally Bleeding is from Vol. 2 but no doubt it's a dope track. I'd like him to do Vol. 1 cause it's less political than Vol. 2 and is more impressive bar for bar when it comes to punchlines and metaphors. Since he likes DOOM, I think Tech is another rapper that stands out especially in his first 2 albums
Connor Geurts It is, that's a dope ass way to start an album too just straight bars non stop
And The Martyr
No Mercy, Dance With The Devil, The Illest, Diabolical, are my fav
his word play AND storytelling is STILL second to none....peace to da god....
One of the best subtle things that I just absolutely love about this album is if you notice on the last track, the artist is attributed to MF DOOM not Viktor Vaughn like all the other tracks. With a title like "change the beat", the intro: "and so the young Viktor Vaughn hid from the world". it's super subtle shit like this that just plays into this massive overarching Narrative of this Doom character, this madvillain and the different stages of life and characters that he can play. I just think that idea and commitment to detail is freaking awesome.
Vik is the younger version of DOOM
Nah bruh it’s a time travelling teenager who looks up to MF DOOM but doesn’t really agree with him bruh
Viktor Vaughn is a play on the name Victor Von Doom which is the super villain Dr. Doom who MF DOOM loosely based off of. Which makes sense we hear science references in the album
I've been listening to this album weekly for over a year and I just caught the double entendre in the "four sides to every story" bar.
@ 5:16 it's Cardassians(Star Trek), not Kardashians(sic). Hence the confusion.
That was quick. I'm glad and surprised you saw it.
I wonder whats Viktors reaction to Dooms death is
This is easily MF DOOM's best work. RIP SUPERVILLAIN 🕊️🕊️
Viktor is the person before DOOM referencing the comics (Victor Vaughn doom / Dr doom)
If Vic is a younger version of DOOM then why is he on the same song on Fancy Clown? It just looks and sounds like Vic and DOOM are two different people but in the same Universe
36 Chambers Wu Tang Reaction . Please
Devan trip YES
Devan trip he's def heard it before
Like there's anyone on earth who hasn't already listened to it.
"(Mm) Conformation of your worst fears, ever since his first years, had a thirst for beers"
Love this album, so slept on honestly. Probably his best solo project if I let go of nostalgia/bias.
Favorite song on this album is Never Dead, incredible storytelling and wordplay by both MC's.
I hope Take Me To Your Leader is next!
honest question... how can you be a hiphophead and not know MF DOOM? I'm seriously perplexed by this. makes me question Shawn cees credibility to be honest
Simple, no one said I was a "hiphophead". Words never came from my mouth, this channel is to show my exploration through the genre. I wouldn't question anyone's "credibility" because in more ways than one I probably know about 10-15 Rock Bands you've never heard of, 7-10 Folk Groups you didn't know existed, 8-12 Blues singers you had no clue about. My opinions and thoughts come from the various selection of music I've listened to throughout my life and hip hop has always been lower on that list. This channel is not meant for a conversion into a hiphophead, it's to spectate what goes on within the genre whilst giving an unbiased review of what I'm listening to. I'd often find myself questioning the credibility of hiphopheads as they are more likely to be biased in the selection of music they rate as "good". Hope this clarifies things.
Shawn Cee ok I can respect that. I was always confused by your doom reactions. I was so confused how you could be reacting to doom for the first time, as these albums are classics to anyone who is a fan of hip-hop. it makes more sense now
JTCFC1 ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE MANS NAME
Bruh I know plenty hip hop heads who don't fuck with DOOM (ALL CAPS FOO) and they have their reasons. DOOM is an acquired taste, not a lot of people can register his verses. Whether his lyrics are too off beat, too complex, or just plain weird. He is just not for everyone.
EDIT: Plus DOOM just flies past a lot of peoples radar because he is underground af.
david santana well said. I consider myself a head and I jus found out about MF like two years ago. like u said....he super underground
He says Cardassian not Kardashian, it’s a Star Trek reference. He actually has a bunch of Star Trek references on this track (ensign, sick bay, enterprise, Klingon, captains log supplemental, photon torpedo) he’s referenced Star Trek before most notably on Figaro off madvillainy
Shawn you don't know how much I appreciate your reactions to these DOOM projects. It makes me feel less like a freak for bugging out the first time I heard these songs haha.
Next do Masta Ace,
MA DOOM: Son Of Vounne please
please react to blu & exile - below the heavens

Jon Lax I was just about to recommend this...
That's a great album. I'd also suggest OC - word ... Life
Albums left: Take Me to Your Leader, Venomous Villain, Danger Mouse, Keys to the Kuffs, Born Like This, Nehruvian Doom, the early KMD stuff in the 90s (Black Bastards is probably their most popular), and the MF EP he did with MF GRIMM. Quite the discography, but with DOOM, there is never enough.
do wu Tang solo classics like liquid swords, built for Cuban linx, supreme clientele
please do liquid swords, you wont regret it.
Hes already listened to them

i think hes done w death grips for now LOL exmil was too similar a follow up to money store
Do a Gang Starr Album. Any of them please!
The way you described it, as Viktor Vaughn just being a villain, is the entire reason Vaudeville Villain is by far my favorite DOOM project. It's just so thematic and dark.
next king geedorah
In case you didn't know Shawn , viktorvaughn is taken directly from the doctor doom comic as who Doctor Doom was before having the mask... his real name was (is) Victor Von Doom... a scientific genius 💯💯💯
One of the best albums of all time, my dude. Glad you listened to it. You're right about him with the split personas - and he carries such a different style with each persona. Hell, he even talks shit about MF DOOM as Vik on hella different songs. Even on MF DOOM tracks, lol. It's hilarious, witty as shit too.
Hearing the sheer hunger in DOOM's voice and delivery on Lickupon never ceases to give me chills all in my head
Highly recommend his albums he did in the 90's with KMD
I’ve heard DOOM say that Viktor Vaughn is like DOOM from a younger perspective. So I’ve always viewed this album as sort of like him before putting on the mask. We see him cheating in class off Peter Parker, dating girls, committing various crimes, doing science experiments. Really just gives the mind that this an angsty teen who’s rising in villainy. Finding his interests in bodying people at the open mic nights and committing petty crime for his experiments. And the track with Apani B is amazing just cuz how clear the story is first listen and how we get the female perspective. It’s like it’s annoying but girls really be like that, and I get it. And is assholish but dudes really be like that, and I get it. That’s life, man.
Would love to see an Aesop Rock reaction. The Impossible Kid, Skelethon, or any other album of his.
A company called SESAC is trying to remove the song Vaudeville Villain (not the album) from youtube in the US, this is possibly the last video with the song

REVIEW AESOP ROCK - THE IMPOSSIBLE KID
DyronMillerHD I was totally thinking that
ikr, its gotta happen soon
The sample of Overture is the theme song from the spider-man cartoon. I don't know which one it is, it's the older one that's on Disney+. RIP DOOM.
DOOM is my rap waifu
Great review man
Let Me Watch and GMC are goddamn beautiful - RIP DOOM - the greatest ever
My favorite project is Madvillainy, but I think Vaudeville Villain might be his best.
the open mic nite 1/2 is so nice in a conceptual way, the one who read hies poem and the so/so rappers, than in the end comes DOOM and destroy the competition.
You finally reviewed it! YEE!
Viktor vahn/MF DOOM, that reference is freaking incredible
React to liquid swords
I suggest Venomous Villain the second VV album. It's the VV album that didn't get the same hype for some reason but it's amazing.
I do not care what people say, but I respect others opinions, but... I like Madvillainy and Vaudeville Villain equally!
Ok, my opinion COULD change, but that's how I feel rn.
i swear he pridected the fucking future doom is incredible

Man, your knowledge of music is impressive and the way you break down songs and lyrics is so good, keep it up!
If you haven't already, would love to see/hear your reaction to Company Flow's Funcrusher Plus album!

Doom has one more main alter ego.King Gheedorah-Take Me To Your Leader
I like to think vaudeville villain is a prequel to mm food kind of, in the sense that Vaudeville Villain is young mf doom where he’s working on this experiment and then mm food is the aftermath
The Cardassians are Star Trek characters..
The Drop is my ABSOLUTE fave track off this album. Vaughn goes so damn hard its like you're in a fight with someone who is so far above your hand throwin level and you're just getting wallopped and you're too slow to block so you're just gettin hit and gettin hit hard. #runonsentence
gotta do DOOM's other alter ego, do the album Take Me To Your Leader, by his alter ego King Geedorah
Do Cal Chuchesta - The New CALassic MIXTAPE
If you haven't listened to "it's everyday bro" you haven't listened to real rap man, we need a review
The early time line of the VIKTOR album refers to him as X, trying break into the game. Those records were heavy for that time and style and so is VIC. And I smelled one song of those records, once. Now VV I listened to 100s times or more That nerdy style with that killer delivery is rare, only early aesop from what I see.
Never clicked on a video so fucking fast!!!
