You do something completely different, like Kid A, so that it's so hard to even compare the two, because they do completely different things.

Feeling so fortunate to live in this scary churning era that's being soundtracked by people like Stu, Ambrose, Joey, Cook, Lucas and Cavs, also Jason Galea (sorry Eric). The audience is allowed to be in the backseat along for the ride to witness their shared collaborative effort live. It is so inspiring and exciting to see and hear that pure creativity in action. No focus group of interim writers and producers, no airbrushing of flaws, no appealing to the marketable flavor of the week in charts. Just lovingly crafted, raw art with idealistic undertones of heartfelt societal commentary and WOOOOOs.
I understand now what my dad meant when he described anxiously awaiting new releases of favorite artists and huddling around a record player with songs on repeat to ingest every detail in them.
It's easy to feel jaded and disillusioned and powerless in this world, but artists like KG&LW turn "how will i get through another week" into "shit yeah let's make hay while the sun shines about it". A sincere reality check wrapped in a blanket of humor and love. All of 20 albums in and they haven't even begun to peak.

Their passion, commitment, and output since their inception is nothing short of phenomenal. Feel truely lucky to have them as part of my world now. Only jumped on the Gizzwagon a few years ago, but feel blessed to have so much to catch up on while still experiencing 2-3 albums a year to stay in the present. FINALLY got to see King Gizzard in Cleveland the night after this interview. Been trying to see them for ages, but nothing ever lined up. Had tickets for a show in 2020, but we all know how that turned out. Absolutely electrifying performance, and well worth the wait. Love these guys and I'm so excited to see more!
