Initially it was FFA Midship customs on Halo 2. After that it was MLG settings 4v4 with my online friends. So many memories of that time between 2005-2007 on Halo 2, it was a pretty dark time for me personally but Halo gave me an escape.
I honestly think they should make a history of competitive Halo series. Going over year by year, get some good interviews of the people who were there. Like a 12 part series, 45 min episodes.
@@EwokHunter27Str8 Rippin vs Triggers Down in 08. Str8 Rippin lost that game, but Eric (Snipedown) was figurtively ON FIRE! He is STILL one of the best Snipers to this day. SSsniperWhat Sniperwolf doesn't deserve that GT..I swear lol
Walshy's Halo history episodes talking about Halo CE are some of the best Halo content outside of actual comp gameplay you can find. His episode with Pac might be one of the best competitive gaming pods/doc w.e it is that I've ever seen. Love that guy!
Mikwen's dad seems GOATED. Hope Native pops off next year. Those Halo 2 MLG episodes were so well done. It made you invested in the scene even without being all too familiar with it. The production value on the H2 ones were elite. I still go back and watch them like twice a year. Lol
Halo CE, watching Rippon’s montages. Downloading the video from Halo-Pro for about an hour and a half and watching it on a CRT monitor. After that, getting Xbox Live in early 2005 and playing FFA customs on Halo 2 midship. Still playing Halo even all these years later ❤
Halo CE baby! Not just for the insane level of complexity and depth that game has that most people don't even know about, but the days of having 20+ people crammed into an apartment system linking xbox's screaming at one another from room to room are experiences I will never forget. I made life long friends back then I would have never made had it not been for Halo.
I remember seeing the old Str8 Rippin Dr Pepper montage in Halo 3 and never even having heard of mlg before that. Needless to say my mind was blown and I was obsessed with the competitive scene since then
Used to skip school in 6th grade to grind halo 2, but grew up playing LAN/system link H1. A lot of my friends never switched to H2 and grind CE till this day. One of their bachelor parties was at this guys office and we all just played 4v4 CE for hours 🤣
Played halo 1 system link with my buddies in i think 2002 or 2003. Fell in love with it then but halo 2 was and still is the best competitive fps game ever made. The skill gap with double shots and bxr's, sniper and br felt amazing, the maps were awesome, trash talking in lobbys, ffa midship, lockout, sanctuary, beaver creek. So many good competitive maps. They need to bring back beaver creek and sanctuary for ranked on infinite.
I watched every broadcasted series from 2008-2012 I'm pretty sure. Every LAN, don't think I missed one. Glad Infinite brought me back even if it's not quite the same for me. ❤ Also have not missed a single Infinite event. We've been all in for years.
Halo 1 is where it started for me. Many LAN parties thrown during my high school years. Halo 2 took those LANs online, with a citywide clan reaching nearly the entire 100 player limit. Have stuck with the series ever since
It’s all about Halo 3. System link with all my classmates and dreaming of Recon armor. Halo 3 is the reason people purchased an Xbox. It’s a wonderful memory.
my god i started playing halo since the first halo but i can barely remember halo 1 i was young asf..the best halo for me was 2 and 3...best game ever made i miss them times: (
I remember there used to be a TV channel in england called ‘X-League TV’ or something along the lines of that. I remember watching it and seeing they used to show Halo 2 and Halo 3 small british lan events. Thought that was so cool, then started watching all the actual MLG american Lans on youtube and was mindblown by how much bigger they were and the (at the time) crazy amounts of prize money
I started halo with Halo 2, i remember the first game I played. It was with some of my brothers friends. Ivory tower and they absolutely destroyed me. I grinded all the way to rank 40 in slayer and team snipers in about a year or so. Imagine their surprise when I challenged them after that
Obviously Reach and 4, considering those are the two that literally nobody mentioned in this video. Seems like it got a huge resurgence with Infinite. I'm one of them.
What Halo game made you fall in love with Competitive Halo? Does a specific moment come to mind?

Halo Infinite esports has been pretty good so far, and it’s my first halo game so yeah.
Neighbor in H3 saving the oddball from falling off the map on Guardian and clutching the win by 1 second always stands out
Watching Frosty play Halo 5 was insane
I honestly think they should make a history of competitive Halo series. Going over year by year, get some good interviews of the people who were there. Like a 12 part series, 45 min episodes.
That would be so sick! Kids these days don't know that Halo revolutionised esports and paved the way for esports to be what it is today
Karmea's story about Frosty with the Halo 5 snipe is facts man. Loved Halo 5 for the comp
Yo! I remember I saw the Halo 3 snipedown pit clip in 2020 and I was like damn I wanna be this guy even though it happened a while ago
@@EwokHunter27 yeah that's such a sick clip, halo 3 was just so good.

Saturday morning MLG on USA. I miss those days
Started playing it on Nov2001. Fell in love with 343 Silent Cartographer mission and cemented it with new Mombasa Halo 2 mission
Walshy's Halo history episodes talking about Halo CE are some of the best Halo content outside of actual comp gameplay you can find. His episode with Pac might be one of the best competitive gaming pods/doc w.e it is that I've ever seen. Love that guy!
gandhi halo history as well
Halo 2 prox chat and pre game lobbies will forever live in my mind. Times that ill never forget 😅

Halo 2 back in 05'. Team Carbon with Karma, Shockwave, and Ghandi. When players could trash talk, and there were true rivalries!
Mikwen dad fully saw the future, salute to him
Amazing that they got all this footage, specially bravo's story clip, kudos to the team behind it!
Halo 2 for me. Actually mlg on ESPN. Watching Dave Walsh and final boss play oddball on midship.
Im gonna cry. Halo CE all day everyday. And then halo 2 came out, so fuckin good

Gracias por los subtítulos, se agradece mucho, saludos desde Perú y excelente video.
Played H2 H3 for fun and started playing competitively in H5
Halo 1 all day, classic one of the best games ever and some of the best memories, that game really started a revolution

Damn lucid had a glow up
Last year optic team got me into it! Been playing sense CE. But was never big into MLG growing up. But damn. Its so good to watch haha
Watching Halo 2 montages from ItWasLuck, Walshy, Gunshot, Shook On3, etc on Halo2forum.

Sorry you're experiencing the worst Halo of the whole series :(
@@josh_alber yeah I know:/ I still like watching it though
I fell in love with Halo 2 when i found out about MLG. Halo 3 solidified that though.
Karmea is such a root for-able player.
For the Halo CE, Saiyan at AGP clip, they credit some dude named ultimateshinzo, but I uploaded the clip to my channel a full 5 years earlier 😎

Halo 5 is the best i love halo 5
Same. I can’t stop playing it😅
That snipe from Frosty made a brotha change whole games for esports lol Huke left Halo then.
I fell in love with halo, with one ethernet cable, 2 xbox, 2 TVs, 8 controllers, Enough said.
As a kid watching halo 2 tournaments
Weird, not a single person mentioned Halo Reach or Halo 4.... Shocking!
Sarcasm
I can't believe another one is on the works, Infinite was really supposed to be the best with how it brought back the core gameplay
Halo 5 mentioned *RAHHHHHHH*
It’s the best halo multiplayer frfr
Halo 2
Love yuns
Halo 2 hands down!! The other halos do not compare to the game or the intensity it brought.
The real question is when did you fall out of love with competitive Halo?
I'd bet most people would say Halo 4/5.
Obviously Reach and 4, considering those are the two that literally nobody mentioned in this video.
Seems like it got a huge resurgence with Infinite. I'm one of them.
Anyone who says anything else than CE or 2 is a trash can lol Halo 5? wtf lol
More tonedeaf videos from halo, if people like a game there will naturally be competitive people into it, forcing it just drives poeple away
halo ce split screen on my fucking 10 in tv
