Random FormaL story: During the Halo Reach days I played with a lot of pros pretty regularly. One night, around 2AM, my buddy and I are in an XBL party enjoying some matchmaking. Out of nowhere, FormaL joins the chat (he was on my friends list, but I haven't played too much with him). He proceeded to just stay in our party chat, uninvited, for hours while he watched Blade II. Looking back, I have no idea why any of this happened but it indeed did lol met him later that year in Raleigh at an MLG event. Solid dude for sure, happy to see his success.
That's a W community moment. Console gaming was amazing for this back in the day. Could just join up with anyone and just chill and have a great time without even giving it a 2nd thought

I would play it from 3pm until bedtime every single day. Playing with people from all over the world who were also addicted to the game. It was the peak of FPS gaming. I honestly think formal could’ve gone pro in overwatch as well. After worlds last year he was grinding on stream and hit top grandmaster in ranked with soujourn. Honestly his adaptability makes him fps goat
I'm with FormaL 100% about Halo 2. It's the fkn GOAT. The MJ of FPS. Not just because of the game. But the population and community it created. The competitiveness that was there, even on the social level. Everyone talked. LIke he said, if you were there to experience it you understand. NO GAME has reached that level since.
So happy I grew up in the Halo 2 era. Videos Games have changed my life to be amazing and still playing in LANs and having a blast and still making new friends

I remember watching him back on Ambush in Halo 4 and just being stunned watching how good he is and continued that domination through COD. Dudes currently at a 1.67 kd in the HCS World championship 2023 and it’s not even up for debate who the best player is in the building right now.

31 year old here - halo 2 was the best era of gaming of all time. I have countless nights of eating pizza/mountain dew playing all game types under the sun (tremors on coag, foundation zombies, superbouncing every bounce possible, sword cancelling up headlongs tallest building... the list goes on) I specifically remember getting my 35 on slayer, I couldn't believe it. I was so pumped to show all my friends the next day when they got on and tell all my boys at school lol. I also remember hitting my first double shot and killing a kid on top of the ring at sanctuary - what a time to be alive. Sorry Optic didn't play well in the grand finals. Hope formal returns.
