I think that you can achieve extra engagement of the arytenoid cartilages or false vocal folds, but a basic, "clean" fry scream, according to the most popular studies, is created mainly by the vocal folds.
When it comes to yell scream and pitched scream, those techniques can easily make a lot of different tissues in the larynx engage at the same time so differences between yell with fry and yell with false chord will be more subtle than differences between "pure" fry scream and false chord.
