Dorohedoro is one of my favorite manga, Q is also a HUGE fan of Slipknot, you can always see the Slipknot cast in the background on the manga. Dorohedoro and Soul Eater both brought such cool gothic ambient light to the manga industry and it kinda sucks that BOTH of their respective anime’s never got the ending they deserved.
i remember reading an interview Q did a while ago where she said that when doing colored pages she just used whatever paint, pastel, marker etc she could get her hands on. also in another interview she says the main characters from her ongoing series dai dark were inspired by the penguins of madagascar :) (not that related to what i was talking about, but i just thinks it’s silly)
I adore the way Q writes her female characters and I really think it’d be great the characters can just be naked and it’s not seen as fanservice. They aren’t JUST woman characters, they’re good characters that just happen to BE WOMAN. We need more characters like that.
Saying it's not fanservice is kinda disingenuous when you have 2 billion pages of nikaido randomly having her tits out while the male characters barely take clothing damage. And honestly, I'm not complaining. I think it's just tasteful enough to where it doesn't take me out of the experience. But come on man, don't act like that's not fanservice.

I found dorohedoro years before it even got an anime adaptation i saw a few pages of the art and immediately order 6 or more volumes then and there. The art style was enticing on its own but fortunately the stories also fun and interesting. I like her being a more mysterious artist but I'd also like for her to do a tell all interview post retirement(if/when that day comes)

I can understand using western naming tradition when writing her name in alphabets, but when using kanji, it looks so weird having the surname after the Q
q hayashida was before digital, thats 80s or 90s, in fact lets just call it sketch instead of traditional, that was my fault, its called sketch but ALSO manga, lets return the sketchbook to being called the sketchbook...manga too.
The anime does a great job at bringing the mixed media aspect to it. It mixes 2D and 3D animation so well it's hard to tell which is being used while watching. The anime was so good I ended up reading all of the manga. Highly recommend both

I haven’t read the manga yet, but that’s something that I’ve noticed too when skimming and I really do like that. I’ve gotta pick volume 1 up ASAP.
