What i love about Dorohedoro is that even if you DID want to spoil the plot to someone you couldn't. Kaiman has one of the most confusing backstories I've ever seen for a main character and, funny enough, if you read it you'd sort of understand it. Only if you tried to spoil it to let's say an anime only they'd only get more confused.

The worlds she comes up with are so insane and otherworldly but still manage to seem mostly grounded within their own universes laws. Its like peaking into another utterly bizarre dimension. Dai Dark is so different from reality that its difficult to predict how any place or event will play out and Dorohedoro despite being slightly closer to reality is also insanely unpredictable. Its always a joy to see what insanity she'll drag you into with her stories.

Also mushrooms are the strongest power. There aint nothing like Dohoredoro.
Dorohedoro was my fave modern Manga before Chainsaw Man, when it comes to art alone, Q Hayashida completely humiliates Fujimeth, but imo the artstyle slays it. Another mangas that have me bought on the art department is Kengan Omega and Baki. Compare QHayashida's suit and sneakers to Fujimeth's suit and sneakers, that alone tells you just whos the better artist imo. Hell I cant even think of Power without thinking of Nikaido, why do both of them are blonde have horns, co-protagonist their friend into another world where theres lots of doors used as portals? These 2 artists ripped off Monsters inc lol.
Why is Q so hidden and secretive? She’s amazing! I have everything she has ever put out and love it all the same because of the style the story the art and fun! But you can’t find anything much about her you can’t follow her? You’d think she’s embrace her fans and become the star that she is? I don’t know if she has Twitter I don’t so I can’t find her there but if I got s chance to meet her I’d just say thanks because her work really makes me smile

Man Dorohedoro is so good. The art is amazing. I love how different all of the devils and sorcerer masks are and yet they are so congruent in theme. Hayashida is a genius.
As far as I'm concerned, in terms of genre, Dorohedoro is an epic. Really long and in-depth, grand in scale, grand in consequence, and it has a huge cast of characters that all need to be known because the plot switches between them constantly. These are traits that also characterize more well-known epics like Akira and Lord of the Rings. (In some ways, the Odyssey itself, literally what the term "epic" was made to describe, is less of an epic than Dorohedoro is, at least by the definition I'm using which I admittedly made up.)
I loved the show's Seaons 1 and finally caved buying Manga issues. I'm still catching up with the show, but really enjoying it. The world building and character in this story is nuts.
DoroHeDoro needs more recognition. It’s so damn good. Everytime I pick it up and wanna read just 1-2 chapters I’m ending up finishing the whole book and have to order the next one
I watched Dorohedoro when it aired and just picked up the entire manga this week. It's crazy how charming and likeable every one of her characters can be despite the absolutely brutal world they live in. The gore + comedy is such a good combo and it doesn't get old. lol I also really like her paneling style (though it was a bit hard to follow initially), like you mentioned. In the first volume, there's the scene where Shin, Noi, and Fujita are getting new masks. Shin and Noi's panels are on top and Fujita's are on the bottom, and the contrast in their experiences is shown simply by the way the panels are laid out. It's a very "show, don't tell" manga and I like that a lot. Everything isn't spoon-fed to me by a narrator or someone's internal thoughts but rather events that take place on the page. I'll definitely have to pick up Dai Dark eventually.
Wow! Just wow! This is my fav manga so far. And the first time I watched this on Netflix it gives me a weird feeling that I don't know why I love the Hole City so much, and I just realized now while I was watching this, one of the best reasons why I love the vibes of the Hole City is because I'm Agoraphobic, I'm also an artist. I like my studio not too big and all the windows are closed every time I make an artwork. Even drinking some beer with my friends, I always prefer inside the house. One of my friends before says that I'm kinda Agoraphobic. Well just sharing, It just blew my mind a lil bit when you compare the difference between Bleach and Dorohedoro vibes. Like you actually gave a good answer why I love the vibes of The Hole City.
When I read, " When you called us Devils" I thought it was written by Q too coz the art was so similar, but turns out it wasn't. Still recommend it though.
